Anyone lose boost after installing a new tune?
Anyone lose boost after installing a new tune?
Every time I get a new tune I lose the SC from working. It seems to be related to the throttle as it logs in the mid 50% range. I have had the reset thing with the key done to success but there is a thread here about it that I need to find. Just wondering if I am the only one or if it has happened to others. THANKS! Mark
Re: Anyone lose boost after installing a new tune?
Jerry at E/C it seems the fuse for the intercooler pump is not getting voltage when the key is in position 2. Could somebody see if the 5amp fuse that is on the right bank of fuses under the hood has power in that scenario on your car. I would really need that and appreciate the help. Mark
PS: some times it is a throttle position issue. I have done the key reset and tried removing the battery negative cable. That fixed it before. I went a month with no boost once before.

Re: Anyone lose boost after installing a new tune?
Look at connector E on the pulse module with the key in on/run position.
If there is 12v at pin 2, but no 12v at pin 7, then the PTCM is not enabling the pump.
If there IS 12v at pin 7, then there is a wiring/connection or fuse or pump fault.
If there is no 12v at pin 2, then there is an ignition switch or wiring fault.
( the pulse module is located in the under hood fuse box closest to the outside )

Re: Anyone lose boost after installing a new tune?
It is a fuel pump so I don't think that would do much This happens many times when I change a tune but after trying the tune several times it takes. The IC pump is new last winter when I went a month with no boost, a real bummer. Rob sent me a link to have the IC pump run whenever the motor is running. I first have to see if the IC pump is getting power. The X-fire has a different fuse layout than the SLK. Maybe I can get the card and find out if that one fuse that has no power with the key in position 2 is for the IC pump. Suggestions are appreciated from the guru's here.

What pins should show voltage if all is well. I think it may be a pump issue with a fuse, then possibly a throttle position issue. THX
