Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
Hey Crossfire enthusiasts! I'm looking to buy my first SRT6 and came across this SSB coupe in NJ - Used 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 For Sale | Hamilton NJ | 1C3AN79NX5X049058. The price looks good ($12k) and the mileage is low (45k) but I saw a few possibleconcerns on the Carfax - CARFAX Vehicle History Report for this 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE SRT-6: 1C3AN79NX5X049058. There aren't any accidents but there were 4 previous owners that only drove 45k miles plus the 1st owner had it registered as a corporate fleet vehicle. I wanted to ask if you see any red flags here. Could it have been a SRT6 Experience car since it was a fleet car with 11k put on it? Any way to find out?
I'm planning on checking out the car this Saturday but the dealership is about 2 hrs away from me so I don't want to drive that distance if you guys thought I shouldn't even waste my time checking it out due to the Carfax history.
By the way, the common issues thread has been very helpful and if I go check it out I'll be sure to check the IC pump, door rust, and seat heaters (butt and back).
All advice and comments are appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
the car looks good in the pictures ,,,look under the doors, the only place you may find rust. make them a offer of 11500. also take the car out for at least 20 min ride ,,,get on it ,try to heat it up The supercharger I mean,,as the car will not heat up after you go wot 5 to 6 times if bad the supercharger pump will stop working ,,but only for a few min. when the SC pump does not work , you give it gas and it feels like what the hell i am not moving. have them take money off if that happened u can fix that for around 100. also look up the sticky key print a good page and tell them this is a problem that will happen take money off again. now you should be around 10,000.00 good luck jim

Looks nice. Given the high water up that way recently I would check closely for suspicious smells. sand in odd places and waterlines. That is just my personal prejudice regarding NJ cars. I see no specific cause for concern with this one.
Did you check the ones on the forum? There was one with one older lady owner just traded in with a known history.

Thanks for the advice Amx and Miami!
Amx I'll definitely check the SC pump during the test drive and will try to get the price reduced if it needs to be replaced. And i already read the thread on how to do it. Regarding the key issue you stated, is this the sticky key issue you were referring to? https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/crossfire-coupe/56384-sticky-key.html
Miami good point given the location. I'll check for water damage when I'm there. I've been perusing the classified section of this forum for a few months now. Would have been nice to get a forum members well maintained car but I haven't seen anything near and in my price range. I'll check the history and see if this srt6 is that lady's.

Re: Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
Dont worry about the corporate fleet thing as being the 1st owner, mine also said that. Basically nobody was buying these cars when they were selling them for 45k+, so Chrysler when it was owned by MB gave excess stock to top level managers as company cars. Whoever had mine first apparently drove it up to 50k.
Re: Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
a corporate vehicle can be a rental car as well. best to just go through the car and look at everything. I bought mine to play, so they aren't daily drivers. But many have been driving and driving theirs for the whole 10 yrs...so, if it all looks good, the price is right...
Re: Any red flags or advice on purchasing this SRT6?
I never seen that before on a Carfax. Being below book value.
"- $90 BELOW book value." I know mine was $1100 OVER book value.
The seat heaters wouldn't be a big deal for me if they didn't work. $12.2k is a damn good price already IMO.
I only see 1 picture on the ad. Would be nice if there were more pictures. I say go check it out. Cash talks, I am sure you could get them lower then their asking price with cash.

They raised the price on that car a coupe week ago after they sold the srt6 roadster that was blue for $14,500 the graphite couple srt6 was $11,500. I just bought mine last week in Cincinnati Ohio same color for $13,000 with 23,000 on the clock. They will take $11,500 I bet. I filled out a loan application for that car. I would have bought it but I would have had to fly there. I live in Ohio. Good luck! I love mine
