New Guy with a couple of questions
New Guy with a couple of questions
Hi all, First post, first off GREAT forum !!! I have been reading before I purchased my first Crossfire not to go into it blind. Have a few questions if you guys can help.
Picked up a GREAT 2005 Graphite Matallic SRT-6 with 22,000 original miles on it ! Even has the original tires and the original white battery with the Made in Spain sticker still on the battery, no idea how it has lasted so long !
Questions:
1. How can I tell FOR SURE that the IC Pump is working ? I can't hear it running but the car runs like a "Bat out of Hell"
2. Will be replacing the battery is the Interstate Mega-Tron Plus #MTP-H6 the best choice ?
3. Being the tires are 10 years old will be replacing them too . What is a good choice don't need TOP of the line I will not be driving over 80-90 MPH. Live in Florida so weather is always good don't plan to drive much in the rain unless it just happens to rain when I am out. (weekend cruiser )
4. Are the wiper blades just standard blades no special ones needed, believe 20" & 22" ?
That's all the questions for now THANKS for your help.
Ralph

Re: New Guy with a couple of questions
1. you answered your own question there. If the I/C pump was out, it would run like a turtle on depressants. ( and unless you are totally deaf, you can hear the blower whine )
2. Go for a AGM battery. I personally like this one : Intimidator 9A48 Group Size 48 (H6) AGM Battery - Remy Battery
3. Don't want to weigh in on this, too many different opinions - use search.
4. yes, unless you are a purist then get Bosch replacements.
Welcome to the forum !!!

Yes I can hear the supercharger whine, and nail my head to the seat Just could not hear the IC Pump running. Guess it is ok.
Never heard of AGM battery will check into it, but I live in a small town so don't know it it is available.
Guess will check on Tire Rack about tires.
THANKS
AGM battery.
Rain tires, u might not plan on driving in rain but without rain tires these can get pretty loose in the rear.
Gmax is a great choice for rear. Good price great grip and can get alot of miles on them. They do have softer sidewalls Wichita some ppl like for ride, but I run them on back and a stiffer sidewall rain tire on front.
I run 275/35r19

Re: New Guy with a couple of questions
I believe the AGM is non-acid filled, so no overflow and no leakage. I bought a pair from Autozone because I had corrosion under both batteries and hoped this to be the permanent solution. Duralast H6-AGM for $170. I'm sure there are better prices but I did not want to drive all over.
A lot of owners have gone with Hankook Ventus V12 EVO tires. Do some searches and you'll find you can go larger than stock if desired. This is a very good summer tire, with uni-directional tread (no side to side rotation possible). I replaced my roadster rears with 10mm wider and the SRT6 rears with 20mm wider. Kept the fronts stock.

Re: New Guy with a couple of questions
You want to hear that SC whine, get a cold air intake. Mine howls like a banshee with a NeedsWings DCAI(dual cold air intake) with K&N X-Stream filters and a Eurocharged 65mm supercharger pulley. It was enough to get the attention of a TN police officer last time at the Dragon.....unfortunately.
