is there any obvious reason why the supercharger just does not work. Nothing at all when pressing the button???

First thing that comes to mind is inter cooler pump u might want to check that

 

thanks but that was done 2 months ago with the new Bosch one all was working great and its just stopped completley

no intermittent just nothing from a cold engine to hot.

still a quick non supercharged ?

 

Do u have a way to read ur iat temps to make sure u didn't get an bad one or make sure it's working .... I used od2 dash command to check mine and other gauges

son has just reported that it has kicked in again now the temp has gone down?

makes me think its the intercooler AGAIN????

 

Check #13 fuse. It's a red 10 amp fuse for the intercooler pump.

 

Won't be the fuse..............it started working again.

 

He said the supercharger kicked back on because the temperature dropped. That doesn't mean the pump is working.

 

what is this mysterious BUTTON" your pushing?

 

Kick down button under the gas pedal ….. duh! What other button makes you see stars …… on a car.

Maybe the SC clutch has an electrical fault?

 

all that does is drop a gear. has nothing to do with the s/c. either its engaged or its not.

 

The button under gas pedal is for kick down and stuff. Not s/c
If the s/c comes on when cold and stops when it warms up you need to check the I/c pump.

 

That's why Les called it a "kick down" button.........

 

YEs, the fuse could be the problem. The S/C will work until the temp is hot, even with the IC pump not on. When I changed my pump out, I thought it wasn't the problem after because it still wasn't working. Ended up the old pump blew the fuse.


I believe a bad air intake sensor can cause the S/C to disengage also. Same theory, the car believes the intake air is too hot, so disengages the S/C clutch to get cooler air and protect the motor.

 

I have seen a bad AIT sensor cause the issue , they are fairly cheap also.

 

+1 on the temp sensor....had a bad one on the roadster some time ago.....
