Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
Until they solve the spring problem by using a real spring they will continue to break. I am sure that we have only seen the tip of the iceberg. Pulleys with so called springs that are considerably thicker than the OEM springs are not true springs and will break much sooner than the originals, they too will fail eventually.
Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
They should come with warring .. Spring unit may only last 2 years if you are lucky ....they say they will SELL me another one for a few dollars less and that in its self is saying we know the springs break and cut up stuff under your hood and maybe even your hood too.....if this keeps happening to people a good way to keep people coming back and maintain a good relationship with people would be replace a defective item ... Even if EC would just sell replacements at cost so they are not loosening a lot of money and people and maybe people would at leased say they try to be good to thier coustomers .......

All of these pulleys will fail, I said that a long time ago, I guess no one wanted to listen.
The problem becomes worse if you are miles away from home. Maybe you can live with it if it fails down the block.

Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
I can't even get Eurocharge to answer a phone call. Ordered the 62mm sc puilley, hasn't been sent, and no answer to calls I made regarding their tune product. Definitely not the type of customer service I'm used to. Anyone with direct numbers to someone there that can advance the contact a bit?
Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
I know this is an old thread and hoping there will still be someone to send me back their 2 cents.
I am about to install a used black aluminum Eurocharged 65mm pulley with 11,000 miles of use on my SRT6. I will replace the bearing before doing so.
Are you gentlemen saying that the aluminum one is not trouble free compared to the steel design? I thought that the EC aluminum pulley was the second generation, newest and best. That the first question.
I already have the Eurocharged tune for stock hardware and love it, but when i purchased the tune, they told me that subsequent updates would be $35 each. I had asked before since i always intended to upgrade the pulley. I also have a NA Roadster that is Eurocharged tuned and was told that it came with a lifetime retune at the time of purchase. When it came time to retune after my larger throttle body upgrade (highly recommended for NAs) they wanted another $35 at the time.
Now after speaking with someone at their office they want another $150 to update the tune for the 65mm pulley. Not cool. I have businesses and always honor what i tell my customers.
Now for this question, does the CPU adapt automatically to the smaller pulley or can it be ran without a retune?
Thanks in advance if anyone can respond to this.

No you the ecu will not be able to adjust for the pulley change, you could get away doing a dcai upgrade without a tune but the extra boost from a smaller pulley needs to be tuned into the ecu. I have the eurocharged tune and have been running it for 3 years now with no issues. They can tune a car better than they can design a pulley.

Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
Thank you Philosophico for the response and gruesome photo as proof. I also found a gentleman on eBay who machines the stock SRT6 pulleys down to 69 mm and claims more durability. I suppose that I can always try the aluminum one and always carry the stock pulley and some tools with me. I also found another person who makes shields to prevent the springs from damaging other components as they fly off. It is hard to be a addicted to speed and power. Crackheads got nothing on us.
Re: Eurocharged 65mm Pulley Issues Resolved
Thank you for the info, ala_xfire.
I contacted Chris and he did not have any in stock. I am waiting for when they are available again.
As for Eurocharge, i reminded Jerry what i was told and he said he would honor the retunes on my SRT6 for the originally quoted $35 at time of purchase.
I am a bit nervous about running the car with no scatter shield but will try to baby it until i get it. Crossing fingers.

I know this is a old thread but I spoke to Chris Friday and he is shipping my scattershield as soon as I pay the invoice. I am just pulling the car out after buying it late last year in Nashville. I have 3 boxes of new bolt on parts but before I start running it hard it was suggested to get the shield. Thanks for looking out.
