Default Rough Idle/Gas pedal not working/stalling

So I got my car a couple days ago everything was running fine. This morning I went and started my vehicle (didnt let it warm up) started driving down the road and all of the sudden the car started bouncing from 600-1100 RPM'S and the gas pedal was not working. So I pulled over shut the car off turned it back on a couple of times and it wouldnt idle right. I disconnected the battery terminal put it back on after about 3 minutes and the car ran fine all day today. About ten minutes ago I go to start my vehicle and it started idling rough right when I started it. I let it warm up and then shut it off removed the terminal again and figured the problem would be gone. Put it back on started the car and it did not correct the problem. Gas pedal was unresponsive and was idling very rough so I just backed it back into the driveway but when it was in reverse the idle seemed to geta little bit better and the gas pedal worked in reverse but not responsive in drive which I thought was very odd. I do not have much knowledge of these cars. I changed the oil the other day with Mobil 1 OW40 and flushed the radiator. Ive also looked around the page before posting only thing I could come up with was maybe it was the CPS or the MAP sensor help please

Throttle Position Sensor in the throttle body, air leak or accelerator pedal fault?
Check for engine error codes to make sure.

Trying to investigate now I did the throttle reset didn't help anything. Doesn't seem like an accelerator pedal fault. I say that because of the horrible idling problem that comes with it.

People always bring up 'Throttle Reset' it is only a programing thing, it does not solve real problems.
But if you know the answers let us know.
Check the error codes.

Check all the vacuum hoses real good for dry rot and cracks.
At 10 years, not a bad idea to get some new hose of the proper sizes from a parts store and do some replacing.
Only other suggestion is to replace the CPS with a new Bosch one. They can cause symptoms like this.
When you replace it, pay close attention to the connector for corrosion.

CPS meaning crankshaft positioning sensor correct? I am going to try this first in a little bit. Will let everyone know how it turns out.

Pulled the CPS took longer to find the E8 torques bit then it did to remove and replace. Had a Bosch CPS in it must have been replaced before. Thank you everyone for the help. Now got to hurry up and get to the family BBQ. I hope everyone has a happy memorial day weekend!

So we can guess that this solved the problem?
The original part was a Bosch so it may not have been replaced.
