Ground Control kits are ready!!!
Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
I don't want to hijack this thread but I want to throw in my 2¢ and defend the members who spearheaded the suspension upgrades being developed by Ground Control.
First, I have some recent experience in handling a group buy with the custom made Crossfire stainless steel wire mesh grilles produced by Zunsport in the UK. Understand that it is VERY rare for a company to consider taking on the manufacture of custom parts intended for a limited production, short model year run vehicle like the Crossfire. Zunsport had asked me why there are not more sales coming from the USA for their custom made grilles. This is what I told them . . .
This root issue is that the Crossfire was a limited production vehicle that was only produced from 2004 to 2008. That means the fleet currently consists of 6 - 10 year old vehicles. As the fleet ages, the number of enthusiastic owners dwindles rapidly. Most people buying a used Crossfire simply don't have the passion for the car that would translate into spending monies on dress up accessories and modifications.
IMHO we should kiss the *** of any company (like Ground Control) who is willing to take on the task of developing products for the Crossfire. Also, the members who spearheaded this suspension upgrade project should NOT be ridiculed for their efforts and for the enthusiasm they have shown for this project. They are NOT personally responsible for the unexpected delays in bringing this project to market.
For those who have been openly critical toward Hustler316, TommyT, and others who contributed their time and positive efforts to bring this project to market . . . I suggest you simply move on to another thread. There is plenty of good reading material on this forum.
Personally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Hustler316 and TommyT for your efforts. I know it is not an easy task and I also know that you simply cannot please everyone no matter what you do . . . especially on an internet forum where it's just too easy to sit back, be critical, second guess everything that's going on and spray poison darts at everyone and everything . . .
Just saying . . .

Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
You won't want to see the price. With many on here wanting to jump on board without knowing the price expect the worst. But if its too high, many will quickly jump overboard since there are no deposits being held. Either these guys are taking one hell of a risk by having the products produced in bulk or maybe you will have to wait for the items to be made after your order is placed. Anyone know?
For some of you it seems you'd rather have the product done quickly and sacrifice quality, which I'm certain would not only ruin future sales but also risk ruining a stellar company's reputation. I'm pretty sure no one wants that, but at the same time it seems some of you are not happy waiting for the product to be done correctly so basically both scenarios are lose lose for a handful of people on here.
This forum is suppose to be a place for fellow enthusiasts to gather and share information as well share in the passion we all have for this platform. I'm not sure why some people have to spread negativity all the time. You don't see this same attitude on FB, it's amazing how anonymity has the same effect as alcohol. It allows you to say things you would never say to someone in person or if you were sober. The internet is like a bar, mostly good people but inevitably it's always sprinkled with a-holes that everyone else tries to steer clear of...you know who you are.
Edit: This was not directed to the person I quoted above, I only quoted you to try and answer you question on the first paragraph.

Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
I think a lot of people on here have no sense of humor at all, extremely thin skins and are prone to getting p!ssed off when someone takes a gentle poke at their favourite project at the time.
I've seen many projects come and go, mostly go.
Lighten up folks, get a sense of humor for crissakes.

Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
I'm just curious to see how low these will go.
Right now my KW's are on the lowest possible setting (probably just a hair over 2" drop) and it's still not nearly low enough for my taste so I am removing the adjustment rings this weekend to drop them down a little bit more.

Hi everyone,
I won't comment all the negativity written in this thread. I just wan't to say that I'm waiting in piece and harmony until this kit will be released. I know that this kit will solve my issue with the tires touching the fenders every time I make a hard acceleration.
My car is like a go-cart today especially after we have upgraded the 4 rear subframe bushings. The car handles really great but the fender is still a problem. I hope that the stiffer springs and thicker dampers will solve this issue. If not I will have to change the offset on the rear rims which I don't want to do just yet

Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
LOL Les I'll post up my shipping confirmation just for you...I'd say you may be on the phone later today
Re: Ground Control kits are ready!!!
YOU KNOW, if they have a good product at a fair price, I will buy it, as for the *** wipes and their bullshit attitudes, and the suggestion I should kiss their ***, I have but one answer...and you all won't like it. GC has produced a whole hell of a lot of suspensions, and whether the pro racers got this started and need their *** kissed for it or not, they have to put a price on it. I too have been in contact with them and stated my side of the story to them. Those of you that DO know me know that I'm am only going to take so much and then it's time to put up or shut up. We are car guys. Fights DO happen in the pits where I race. Maybe not in the world you all live in, but here, they do... So, I will deal with GC on this purchase, if we go that route Those of you who don't like what I have to say can use the IGNORE FEATURE. That is why it was put there. But don't ever tell me to go away. You mouth off, then you will get an answer. My attitude will adjust to yours. Love the cars, hate the bullshit. Now, I am headed down to the track, in Indy, to watch some real race cars and drivers. Grand Prix is tomorrow. A whole host of races leading up to the Indy cars. Taking some friends to the company suite. You all have a nice evening. The Z-28 is sounding better every day...
