Default SRT6 Engine Serpentine Belt Idler Pulley

Anyone have an issue with this pulley squealing very loudly? It is not the belt slipping. Listening to shaft with screwdriver to ear (home made stethescope) it has a lot more noise than the same point on the supercharger drive pully. I think bearing is on the way out. It shot it with a couple sprays of WD-40 and it is now silenced. Any comments, suggestions or personal experiences with such an issue?

Change it before this happens.
Happened today. Bearing is toast.
Now I gotta research the part number.

The idler pulley is always a failure waiting to happen. Look into a Needwings pulley saver kit or a LateModel21 belt wrap kit to eliminate that destined to fail idler pulley. Take a few minutes to read through this thread for additional information on your problem . . .

More specifically . . . links to Needswings and LateModel21 kits are in this post #18 on that thread . . .

Great...another thing to replace on this POS. I'm so disillusioned with my SRT-6. In fact I came back just to start another "what's wrong with it threat" when I saw this and couldn't help but drive-by it.

Give me details on your POS and I'll consider taking it off your hands . . . It's seems like you just are not Crossfire guy . . .

It's a beautiful car and when it worked I really liked it. Now the trunk leaks, the front rain gutter continues to get clogged, the interior lights click on and off while I'm driving and the doors lock and unlock at their will not mine. The battery dies after being left alone a few days (it's not the battery. It's done it to 2 of them so far and I'm sure the one in there now needs replaced. I feel like I should be able to leave it sit for 7-10 days and have it start.), the CPS has another 15k miles until I need to replace it lest it shut my car off at 75mph at random. The AC doesn't blow cold until I've been driving for way too long and then gets warm when I'm at a stop light. It looks like it runs hot which from what I've read it shouldn't even with the undersized SC pulley from EC (the needle likes to get higher than the middle temp hash mark at idle). The headliner is falling down in the back except it's the cloth unsticking from the actual headliner so I can jerry rig it or pay someone to actually fix it.

No dealership can be trusted with them, I've been told twice I need to replace my SC and one of those was after the service manager wrote me up for a manual transmission clutch (which as you know is not an option on this car.). The paint on all my rims has failed (might be because the guy before me curbed it...but all four? I dunno jury's out on this one.) Stock front speaker blew and I keep my music at a conversational level. New SC pulley was required because the clutch went bad on my old one and don't forget the IC pump...thank God for this forum as that was the first time the dealer wanted to replace my SC. I think that's it. But it's a beautiful car and the fastest most eye catching thing you can buy for the money IMO. It's not for sale, I'll suffer with my one of 4000 car and just try to remember the good times I suppose.

But please point me in the direction of the "it's easy to DIY" threads and I'll recant, knock this stuff out during the spring and go back to measuring my drives in smiles per gallon. In the mean time...31 year old 300SD that's reliably broken lol. Wow, I'm in a terrible mood sorry for that guys.

If the trunk leaks then water may or perhaps I should say has gone into the well in the trunk on the passenger side under the foam and damaged the security pump module.
When this module goes haywire the operation of the doors and lights to some areas can be disrupted.

The battery drain can be found using an amp meter and pulling fuses one at a time.

Defeatism has its own rewards - more losses.

Except for the battery drain, I've had or am currently experiencing every one of those issues and I'm still thrilled to own my car. One year this month. I'd buy it again. And again. Seriously.

100-80 Thanks man. Just having a shitty few weeks and I appreciate your input. No sarcasm because if there were it'd be in blue Took it out for a spin today and yeah, it is a fun car to drive and it's nice getting looks at a full gas station. Time to Google "how to use a ampmeter" and get to short finding!

I think you will find the short when you locate the water and corrosion caused by the water....start in the trunk....
