Default Supercharger oil leak

I'm posting this for chuck_138 'cause he's working and never got around to asking.

So he has an oil leak coming from the top of the supercharger clutch, where it meets the supercharger itself (not between the clutch and pulley). We saw some of the oil had been flung on top of the rebreather hose and his DCAI pipe on the driver's side. I don't remember seeing oil anywhere else.

Anyone know what might be wrong and if will require a whole new supercharger, or is it a replaceable seal, or new clutch needed? I couldn't find any threads with this particular problem. Also, I don't recall this oil having a strong odor, but my memory sucks, so I can't say if it is supercharger oil or something else.

Did some reading on this over on MB forum, many thought the SC was at fault, turns out the electric radiator fan can do this.
Check the fan - lots less expensive.

If it is the seal on the bearing then the bearing could be replaced, if it is a separate seal then you can replace the seal. If it is a bearing with two seals, one each side, then you could in a pinch reverse the bearing and hope the seal on the other side is OK.
180, could you elaborate a bit on this?
Could it be the pulley itself? What seal? I am a bit lost here. Any help would be awesome.

OK, first, 180 has a car of his own, second anytime something spins on a shaft, it first has a bearing the shaft will spin on, and if there is fluid on one side or another, then there must be a seal to keep the fluid in. 101 mechanics, not necessarily 180 mechanics. So yes, if behind the plate is where the fluid is being slung, then my guess is a seal. Not sure why the seal would fail, but there it is. Good luck.....

Back some time ago the question was raised as to why there was a hole through the bolt that held the pulley assembly onto the SC shaft. Reasons were bandied about but Rudy put forth what seemed to be the most logical. He reasoned that the hole allowed the pressure inside the gearbox portion of the SC to remain at the ambient air pressure outside the SC gearbox. If the pressure was too much higher oil would be forced through the bearing taking with it some oil. The hole in the shaft would be away from the oil and therefore only air would come out the hole in the bolt. Seems logical to me, I hope I have explained what Rudy actually meant correctly.
Therefore the oil leaks could be because the OEM bolt has been replaced with a bolt with no hole through its center. Or the seal on the bearing behind the pulley is shot.

I have pictures of a disassembled super charger, maybe I'll put them up here if anyone is interested.

made sense to me....and dirt, dust, whatever, may have clogged that tiny hole causing pressure built up forcing oil thru the bearing.....or the seal is bad.... as you know Dave, photos are everything.....

Thanks guys for the comments. any photos would be appreciated.
So best bet, to get a new bearing / seger ring for the pulley?
It is a EC 64.7 mm SC pulley. If yes, any idea of the order# or should I just contact Jerry and the gang?

My answer applies to oil coming out from the rear of the electromagnetic clutch, not anywhere else. The leak would be between the black spinning magnet and the aluminum SC housing, nowhere else.

Ok I understand.
Is this something that others have experienced?
Any simple solutions?
