I found a great deal on electric cutouts this morning -- $239 shipped!

Anthony thoes are like the ones I have minus the remote control feature. Mine operate from a two button key fob. Honestly I think these would maybe be better if you run the control switch inside the cabin (my switch is bundled under the hood) because the remote sensor on the cut outs is a mounting problem on the passenger side and ends up being pretty low. Jegs is great to work with and will replace a cut out no questiones asked if you a have a problem with one.

JEGS Performance Products 30831 JEGS Electric Exhaust Cutouts

After reviewing the link I saw this : JEGS Performance Products 30751 JEGS Exhaust Cutouts and it got me thinking. If these come in stainless and work with the electric cut-outs, this would make a super cheap alternative.

I already have those pipes as part of Rob's downpipes, but they would be a great alternative to someone running stock downpipes. Duh, I'm pretty sure that's what you meant.

I was going to get a set of QTP's with wireless operation, but couldn't justify paying double the price. I'm pretty certain I can retrofit the wireless setup to the Jeg's cutouts later on when I get the urge. The remote kit is only $75 on Amazon.

Yes, exactly. But If I was going to cut into my stock pipes, I'd at least want stainless.

How can Harleys drive up the street and let it rip and wake up the neighbours but we can have a squirt or 2!

Apologies - when we "head out for a squirt" it means as per ye olde carburettor days where you could actually see the jets squirting down the barrel.
Hence the phrase - go for a squirt.
as opposed of course to visiting the mens urinal.....

That is of course - I assume that these down pipes aren't louder than a harley could be.....

Can anyone tell me what's causing the whistling/singing sound at idle in the linked video? My car has this exact sound and I'd LOVE to get rid of it.

I believe that sound is a result of the NW catchcan or CAI.

Hmm...don't have a catchcan, but do have a CAI...it seems to go away though as the car warms up after 3-5 minutes. Thanks for the reply
