Dallas shop to mod my SRT6?
Dallas shop to mod my SRT6?
I am new to the forum. Purchased an SRT6 in June 2011 w only 16,000 miles. Have put another 14,000 miles in two years. Love the car. Ready to significantly mod and upgrade. Speed, breaks, sound, wheels, tires. Any reliable shops in Dallas that know something about SRT6 mods and can help me out?
Re: Dallas shop to mod my SRT6?
Welcome! I'm in Dallas too. I don't know of a one-stop shop that does all. As cuervoacres says, Eurocharge in Houston is your best bet on an performance & tune. Passport Motors in Plano (off Central) has done brake work for me. Go to a specialist like Car Toys for audio work. For tires and wheels, get a big bucket of popcorn and start reading this forum. You'll learn a lot here. In fact before you do any mods I suggest you use the search button and do your research here first.

Hi Squirrel Crusher . . . I met the guy (at the fall Tail of the Dragon) who bought and installed your modified hood but I can't remember who it was. I'd like to install those Jaguar hood vents on my hood.
Hoping to get some direction on how you modified the underside of the hood to handle the water inflow issue. Do you have any photos of the underside of that hood? You can e-mail me directly at RedDogNumber1@aol.com. Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

You're right . . . $374.95 a pair . . . Can't figure out from their website if they are functional vents or just ornamental . . .

Re: Dallas shop to mod my SRT6?
Red Dog, I don't think they were functional when they came from the factory on the Camaro.
Since it has "drain holes" then there probably is a blocking plate directly under the mesh screen. But I would think that could probably be removed with a cutting tool.

I just thought being chrome, they would go nice with the hoods chrome wings.

Re: Dallas shop to mod my SRT6?
I e-mailed Billet Specialties and asked them to send me a spec sheet to include the dimensions of the parts along with the installation instructions. The more I think about these, however, the more I'm leaning away from them. They are just "so recognizable" as being from a '69 Camaro that I think they'll just look too "glued on" if put on a Crossfire hood. Probably not a look I'll want to pursue.
