you are way ahead of yourself. regardless of what others will tell you here. There really isn't a need to do anything to an SRT6 but drive it and enjoy it. You will have a few mechanical fixes to do over time, like the IC pump fairlure. This is common. They are readily available. The CPS sensor may go bad, and again the part is available and is an easy fix.
You don't have to do what us old gearheads do and push them to their limits...
OH, and btw we haven't even come close to pushing their limits...

IMO, you can't do any better than spending some time reading the SRT-6 message base on this website.

But as an SRT-6 owner myself, the biggest "preventative maintenance" type of thing I did was buying the coolant separator kit (got mine from Needswings.com -- but other people have just fabricated their own, too). From everything I read, it sounded to me like the intercooler for the supercharger of the SRT-6 is one of its "weak spots", at least in the sense that the aluminum internals expand and contract like an accordion when hot engine coolant starts circulating through it and then cools down again when the engine is shut off. Over time, it winds up cracking and leaking -- and is an expensive item to replace.

I'd much rather spend a little bit on the hoses and valves needed (even if you have to pay a mechanic another $100 or so to install them for you), and set up a separate cooling loop for the engine and for the supercharger, so the intercooler isn't thermal-stressed anymore.

I've only had my SRT for a bit over a year but the car itself has 90K on it. I have had no problems with the S/C except for the inter-cooler pump (I/C). Replaced that myself for about $120 in parts and have had no other problems. As a precaution, since I have never owned a car with an S/C, I purchased a drivetrain warranty that covers the S/C for 3 years / 36,000 miles. Don't know if I'll ever need it, but it's looking like I won't.

Also, before I knew much about these cars, I test drove an N/A just to see if it was what me and the Mrs. wanted. We liked it but couldn't find a decent one in our price range. Then, this SRT came up for sale and it was in our range - I thought it had to be a piece of crap. It wasn't. And when we test drove it, we knew it would be an SRT (not an N/A) if we were to buy one. I'm pretty sure that the price was so low because the I/C pump was failing and I would bet the previous owner and the dealership thought the S/C was shot. $120 later and it was back to full power - thanks to this site

Good luck on your search - I'm sure your car is out there somewhere
