Default Just changes IC Pump

I just replaced the bosch IC pump this weekend. Have approx 36K miles. I'm surprised lasted that long. I wanted to keep bosch, didn't want to have to modify. Process went smooth, thanks to DIY on site. The 5th screw/bolt stumped me for a while. I didn't see this on search, I just dropped the under engine panel and could get to that screw/bolt really easy. Thats, for DIY..

Fifth screw? Was that the one that you needed to use an extension to go to from the front?

I couldn't get at from front. Like I said, removed cover under motor and it was a straight shot.

I dropped the belly pan too. It's a little awkward and in my case messy but easy enough. The new pump keeps the water cooler longer but it ends up at the same temperatures as before.

in the dead ones...is it purely - "electrical death"?
has anyone observed impeller wear on the "old v new"?

Mine's staying unopened for now. The pictures of bad pumps I've seen (on this forum BTW) had broken impellers. I've never heard of one failing electrically. But I've only been here since ... 2008.

This is for a Johnson install but it is similar and easier to do the Bosch.(click)

If you stay with standard pump, and know where that 5th screw is, it is no longer than 2hrs.
I clamped both hoses and lost minimal amount of fluid.
