Default Cruise nite - Thoughts from the Beepster...

Took a drive through some hot spots in Kingwood and Atascacita tonite and noticed the following...

There was a stopllite, a brand new Charger cop car then me. The lite turned green and the cop floored it. The car sounded great, he chirped the tires but I wasn't impressed with his acceleration. I'm pretty sure I could have smoked him ( a very silly thing to try). You can recognize those tail lites a mile away.

There's lots of nice looking cars around but how menacing are they? Really?
Especially at nite, when it's hard to see any special little badging indicating what might be under the hood, I find myself looking at the tail pipes for clues. For instance, a Mustang might really look the part but if there's only 1 small tail pipe out the back, that's a dead giveaway for a stock 6cyl.
No threat.
The same car with 2 large pipes I'ld think twice about messing with it.

Anyways, the SRT's running like a champ and that's all I got to say right now. Feel free to add your observations.

I have seen camaros with V6's and two tailpipes. I find myself messing with mercedes and BMW's the most. I haven't been schooled by a mustang or camaro yet. The problem is mostly my maturity has caught up and never really doing any street racing anymore to find out. I did get a ticket on I-10 Thursday, 90 in a 65...... He was driving a brand new F350 with fancy headache rack, replacment grill guard, and rear bumper, totally not what my brain warns me to watch out for. I did get beat one morning by a cadillac CTS with yellow calipers that pulled out of the Dominion here in SA town. he was quick.

You'd have eaten the police Charger. I used to have a Magnum RT and raced a buddy of mine a few times in his cruiser (both Crown Vic and Charger). Adding in the absurd weight of cop stuff, I easily walked away from him in the RT. That was good for mid to high 14s at the track and a burnout that just roasted tires, so if he just chirped, he was only having fun IMO.

The SRT-6 is a LOT faster than my old RT which was a lot faster than the cop car...transitive property = you winning by a whole lot...especially with the tune/DCAI.

Yeah, the CTS V is quick. This past Friday I messed with a Mustang 5.0 on the interstate. We did not have alot of room to do anything crazy but there were some spots that opened up where we had some fun. He could not pull on me during hard acceleration.

Ha Ha Ha, no wonder about the lac.

I just got back from my grandfathers house and he bought a new little toy, he said it does 11's stock. I couldn't see a supercharger though, how could this be called an srt then? Anyways, this has dual exhuast and does have the ***** to back it up. Looks like a sleeper from far away. Carbon fiber trim, paddle shifters, big stainless exhuast, big brembo brakes, 6.4 L Hemi, it is a little dirty but nice!

Looks pretty milk-toast to me...and 11 second 1/4 mile, I don't think so.

Probably the same reason I can't date older women. It's just stuck in my head that way. Sport cars are for going fast. Trucks are for hauling dirt.
But, if someone gave me one, I'ld probably go have a riot in the thing.

And to think Dodge was talking about a Journey Van SRT-6... I would rather see a truck or even a Jeep SRT than a van.
