Default Modified Intake Manifolds

Alright guys, here is the latest pic of my engine bay. I just installed the modified intake manifolds and had the CAI pipes painted as well to match the valve covers. Watcha think? I hand tightened the bolts first, then used 5 ft lbs, then 7.5 ft lbs on the final tightening – no leaks. However, I thought I did hear a leak and began using the Waldig rubber hose listening tool but that was not giving me what I needed so I grabbed my wife’s stethoscope and found the noise coming from one of the hoses on the oil catch can. The sound was probably always there but I never focused on listening before the install. Also, using the 3M Super 77 spray made the install of the gaskets a piece of cake. The idle is where it should be which seems to be a good indicator if you have any leaks.

FYI…I think Rob is taking a Marketing class because everytime I call him I buy something! Soooo, I just received the Zeitronix system with boost sensor and will be installing that over the next couple of weeks. I am a little nervous with this project but plan to do plenty of research to make sure I have everything covered.

Later

Looking good ! just take your time with the zeitronix, and double check your connections/colors when making the harness, and you'll be fine.
i was a little intimidated when i installed mine, but a few e-mails to Rob, and he put me at ease.
if you need any assistance, shoot me a PM and I'll help if I can. I fitted the fuel system also, and to me that was the hardest part. Making a harness up for the zeitronix is time consuming, but not too bad.

Love it, just missed the chance for a red catch can. Too bad I sold mine to a new loving home. It was time to move on, as the motor was pretty much maxed out without cracking things open...found a new toy, should be here in another month or so...

Looks sharp. I think we have the same exact mods right now. I am still not done with the wideband install. I need to find some time to go to an exhuast shop to weld the bung and them I'm golden. I replaced my intake gaskets when I had the boost bung tigged in. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks everyone! I was a little concerned about all of the red when I first ordered it but after seeing it installed, it looks awesome!

Rob, I will send some pics to you tomorrow. Work was crazy today so I did not get a chance to get out there.

Haha ZAHANMA, I did not realize how close our engine bays resembled each other. Enjoy the new toy!

Thanks for the offer magredvet as I may need it and I plan to lean on Rob as well.

Jesse, I need to hit the exhaust shop as well, hopefully in the near future and plan to keep everyone posted on my progress. I was going to try the exhaust shop last week on my day off but instead spent the day at the LSU Bayou Bash to celebrate National Signing Day.

So you could tell a difference with the Butt Dyno?

obvious difference when you install a CAI, an obvious difference when you add a pulley, and so goes it with the intakes...

What did I miss? I can see no mention of what the mod done to the intake plenums was except paint. Were they coated on the inside? I doubt you could feel any seat of the pants change if that was the case.

Ok. Perhaps a mystery has been solved. I have noticed a little whistle since I installed the 2nd half of the intake and the catch can. This happens after the car has warmed up a bit. I was thinking it was belt slippage.
