Eurocharged Euro-Flash! Data Logging, OBDII Code Functions, and ECU Flashing!
Re: Eurocharged Euro-Flash! Data Logging, OBDII Code Functions, and ECU Flashing!
No way! This motor isn't detuned in anyway. IT came from AMG at 349 hp. NOT 330 as listed. 19 hp was a lie because Daimler didn't want it competing with their MB brother. I didn't gain that in a tune with a cold air intake... It's his money if he wants to waste it. The tune is the last thing you do after you have installed all the aftermarket products. I never understand all the retuning that goes on. Plot your course, get it installed and then bring it all together with a tune. Had the new pulleys not come along, I would never have needed a new tune...
Lets be honest, this tune on a stock SRT-6 won't put anyone into 11 seconds. This isn't the point!
From personal experience with my stock SRT-6, after the tune I only calculated a slight increase in my 0-60, and really didn't get any increase when it comes to "seat of the pants" dyno. (I'm doubting a 38hp gain)
On the other hand, What I am noticing is a smoother power band, faster response to accelerator pedal input, and more predictable gear changes.
This has greatly inproved the drivability of the vehicle and as a stand alone "modification" is well worth the money.
Also, don't forget you have life time tune's, so now with any bolt-on's you can easily maximize your gains at no additional cost.
Overall Verdict, this is a very good first purchase for any stock SRT-6. (can't speak for N/A)

I am still SRT6-stock and I love the Eurocharged tune. Changes throttle tip-in, gear changes, and generally a much more smooth power delivery. See this thread for more details. I won't claim HP/TQ increase since I didnt' get a dyno before and after. Others on the thread may have, which would be more than seat-of-the-pants analysis.

I'll go stand in the corner with Buck now..
Re: Eurocharged Euro-Flash! Data Logging, OBDII Code Functions, and ECU Flashing!
you guys crack me up.... 38 hp with a tune... Come tune my two... I need the hp... I would be at 387 with no mods...CAI, intakes, pulley....I must be at 500 crank by now....
I will leave you guys alone, what would I know...just didn't want to see guy waste his money until he would see some real gains...

Lets not kid ourselves, this is only a $300.00 "mod", no one was expecting ridiculous gains.
Anyways, if we are going to start the flaming war on what modification everyone should get, and in what order,
then here goes,
Even the cheapest Needswings CAI around $450.00 (which is essentially a $50 dollar aluminum pipe, a 25 dollar filter, and a couple 5 dollar couplers) will only give you essentially the same satisfaction in HP/Torque as this tune, without any of the drivability improvements I mentioned before hand.
(EDIT: Doesn't mean I don't recommend buying the Needswings CAI, I will eventually get one despite my reservations, since I'm to lazy to make one from scratch)
So, sorry to anyone who got the CAI before the Tune, you spent more for less.
Gonna go stand in the corner

Damn.. how many corners we got in this room.. starting to get a little crowded!
I can say torque pro only showed and 11 HP gain. And that's NA with a 74mm upgrade and twin "cheap" aluminum pipes on the air box with K&N filters. HOT AIR INTAKE.. 3" pipes sucking air instead of through the little port holes in the grill. Intake temps are no worse than the stock setup. I wish I would have logged the torque as it seems that is where she has really picked up. 24 HP..no.. worth my $300 kick in the pants performance.. um.. yeah I'm good with it..

The cold air intake and the tune netted the same 1/4 mile times... My 1st tune was done onboard, not a canned tune. I went from 13.1, to 12.9 with the cold air intake, tuned, it came down into the 12.6-12.7 range. Added the 65mm pulley brought me down into the 12.2 range on street tires. This was the roadster. The coupe with similar mods, adding modified intakes, and a 62mm pulley, new fuel pump, will see even better times. So the last thing you do is a tune.... Tunes in those days on sale were $600 not a canned tuned on sale. Believe what you like, but you being tuned by guys like me in those early days at the track with or without mods running our cars with guy in the passenger seat, and sniffer hanging out of the exhaust seeing what the car was doing while running the quarter miles. Those times are 4 yrs old. Not much has changed other than the new pulleys available. And Rob's CAI was tested and tested, not just a few pieces of pipe and filter.... same goes on the intakes... I am done here...

stock? Les...STOCK?

I'm really feeling the need to learn the plastics side of the 3D modeling program I use at work.. Probably wouldn't be real difficult to find a company with a 3D printer to prototype with.. and I did find a plastics company that will do 10-50 from your 3D model. Has more appeal than buy fiberglass ones to send off to see what it will cost..
Re: Eurocharged Euro-Flash! Data Logging, OBDII Code Functions, and ECU Flashing!
Hey, if that was too strong sorry....but that is huge HP... That just doesn't happen with this motor... Hell, I have fortune in the 2 I have and it costs a lot to gain that kind of HP... Would a tune improve the performance, yes...but not that much.... Until you change a parameter, like a CAI, or pulley, or intakes, etc.....just isn't worth it in my opinion...
Eurocharged actually claims 368HP for an SRT, which would be an increase of 19 over the 349 stock that you say is the actual figure, and that seems to be a more reasonable claim. Still a good deal though given the reports of overall enhanced driveability other than just the HP & I'm well aware that real gains don't come cheap.
I don't have a horse in that SRT race anyway - I'm just trying to squeeze whatever I can out of my lowly N/A with the few bolt-on mods available to us. You guys with that forced induction and tweaking at the track are way beyond anything I might attempt....maybe someday....

except I still hold the record for the most torque!
BTW...
hi Doc It's been awhile!
