SRT6 v SLK32 Rolling Circumference...Wheels/Tyres...
SRT6 v SLK32 Rolling Circumference...Wheels/Tyres...
Anyone disagree and if not - explain;
1) how the ABS/ASR copes with such a large diff in circumference between front and back? I understood it was supposed to be within 3%.
2) the taller wheel diameters would change the gear calcs I posted in an alternate thread - those were for the SLK32 based on 1993mm.....hmmmmm

I have not, and will not take the time to count the number of teeth on the sensor plates front to rear, but I suppose the difference in diameter between front and rear could be accommodated by this.
( larger diameter = more teeth )
Either that, or the ABS computer expects different frequencies from front and rear sensors ......

I agree w/ the above posts. If 3% is the number, then it's gotta be, that it's no more than 3% from stock size of the front, and 3% from stock size on the rear; not 3% difference from front to rear. So, for example, w/ a stock 26" tire, you could go up to a 26 3/4". I'm obviously just guessing here.

I think there must be some adaptation in this area - ie: speed sensors must have been rejigged to allow for the different rolling diameters below.
so
Crossfire OEM Data:
Front Wheel 18", 7.5" Width, +35 mm Offset
Front Tire 225-40/18.
2002mm rolling dia
Rear Wheel 19", 9" Width, +22 mm Offset
Rear Tire 255-35/19.
Bolt Pattern 5 x 112
2077mm Rolling Dia (=+3.7%)

I'm pretty sure my MT Drag Radials are a good bit taller (5.08%) and don't cause issues. I do know from experience that the 3.27 diff doesn't work though... of course you've already heard that from others in the another thread. lol
