I was looking at the April 18, 2022 version of the SRT6 VIN # Database and I noticed an error for my car. I own # 5X038261 (#312 on the list), a metallic gray SRT6 Coupe. The assigned note for #312 says "Treadway Motors For Sale 9/2019". Car # 313 on the list has the note "H LeMans, owner as of 12/2021.... I am H LeMans and the note is assigned to the wrong car. My car (#312) has the erroneous note about "Treadway Motors". Please correct the notes and add "Located in Virginia" to the H LeMans note for #312. Thanks,

The database doesn't permit any owner to add or subtract any information in the database, since it would compromise the data that has been developed since 2007. If you provide me with the information, I will add your comments to your specific line in the database. By the way, what is your last five numbers of your VIN#?

Hi Dennis. I'm fine that you need to do all additions to the list. Last 5 digits are: 44982 which is #936 on the list I believe. The listed color and "model" are also correct as "AB" and "C". What I would like to add is my name as owner: BoB Fenn and that I'm in Massachusetts. It's stock and unmodified other than some cosmetic chrome overlays. Thank you for being willing to do this list, and maintain it! BoB

Thank you for responding to this VIN# Database thread with your information. Your VIN# is new to the database and I've added it with all of your information. Your SRT6 was manufactured as a 2005 model, based upon your VIN#, the "5" preceding the X confirms it. The issue arises with the color, "MG"/Machine Gray, since this color was started with the 2006 model year. This is the reason we would need a picture of your SRT6 Roadster to confirm the color. The 2005 color gray is known as Graphite Gray for the 2005 model year.
Your information will appear at the next time I publish an update, later this month.

I checked my paperwork again, the colour actually is Graphite Metallic.


There are a few plates on the car, some have 2005 dates on them, some have 2006 on them and this one has 2007 on it.

 

Thanks for posting the picture, I guess no unicorn after all.

I can appreciate the confusion, related to the various plates on the SRT6, but the VIN# 5X059021 is the true indicator that it is a 2005 model. I am not familiar with the other dates associated with the plates. I'm sure someone can explain the various dates, like a Chrysler dealer or licensing agency that would register the car in Australia. Maybe they are related to the date of entry into Australia or change in ownership, just guessing at this point

As to the color, it is not Machine Gray, but known as Graphite Gray for the 2005 model year. The Machine Gray has a bluish gray hue (2006 model year only), whereas the Graphite Gray is a medium gray in color as your pictures indicate.

I hope this helps to clarify these issues....
