motor mounts...
autohausaz have
Lemfoerder OEM
here
https://www.autohausaz.com/search/pr...ine/MotorMount
for $94 a piece.....
I nearly bought some ebay ones for half that until I read some internet posted issues with the quality
1) anyone know of cheaper Lemfoerder's or other reputable brand but cheaper than Autohaus?
2) there was a report tha MB have different part numbers for Left and right possibly due to the different duty requirements....can this be substatiated or is it just an MB catelogue thing?

Cannot find anything cheaper though.
Re: motor mounts...
Just saying that I have been doing some research and I am just subscribing to your thread here. I was interested in what your opinion is after reading through the poly fill thread and wondering what your plan is.
I need to find a set of replacement mounts but only want to do this project once. I am hesitant to install factory OEM mounts as they may just fail again. I don't really have the time it takes to make a set of poly fill ones right now.
Beaner used the V8 engine mounts and said they are similar to the srt6 ones with about a 1/4" increase in engine height. I would suspect that a CL55/E55 engine mount would be stronger?

Just an observation not based on any experience in this area though and I could be wrong .....again.
Re: motor mounts...
Raising the engine and keeping the same tranny mount would put the drive line out quite a bit. The flex disks and bearing would be at different angles. More flex at the disks is probably not good as I am sure that they last longer with minimal flex.

I'm not sure 6/10 ths of one degree would make a big difference, maybe so, maybe not.
( I used the online calculator at Angle Calculator )
ditto to the "Just an observation not based on any experience in this area though and I could be wrong .....again."
Re: motor mounts...
180, if we arbitrarily assume the distance between the motor mounts and the tranny mount is 2 feet ( probably wrong, but close ), then a 1/4" higher motor mount would result in an angle increase of 0.59675 degrees at the flex disc.

Clearance at the top of the engine is reduced and in Beaners case he had interference (V8).
Re: motor mounts...
I agree but any increase is not good. That angle translated to the flex disk is quite a lot, a 6" diameter disk would flex +/- .031 for a total of .062 more than it does now. I used my trusty HP 41CV calculator.

Re: motor mounts...
wow a 41CV....what can I say...now that was a good era.
I'm heading for stock I've recieved my new ones - just checking out the process....ie: engine lifter or an alternative.
I'll refill my old ones with 60 poly + possibly a torque bolt setup.
If I dont end up with a torque bolt - the refills will be there if ever needed and it soundz like they will be after I get over 400hp
I dont see the refill taking a long time - an afternoon in the shed with some power tools...is always therapeutic.

Re: motor mounts...
If you don't mind, where did you get them from? I've got to do mine.
Re: motor mounts...
The V8 mount and the v6 mount look identical, I had one in each hand and could not tell the difference other than the part number... Since the v6 is lighter, my guess will be less than a ¼" difference in height if you were to put the v8 mounts with your v6... So do some more calculating
