Can you tell us what the diameter of the primary tubes & the outlets are?

Yes nice....even look nice on the kitchen bench over night.
As for the design.....
My (limited) understanding is that you try (particularly when you have the advantage of room and can fit long pipes) that each pipe to the final Y-join should be an equivalent length. That way the pulses all travel down the pipe in a regular pattern....reflections all travel back and around at regualr intervals....and the "suction wave" which would eventually follow a peak wave....can assist in dragging the next pulse (valve opening) out of the chamber. All cylinders see the same exhaust back pressure (preferably suck) state....oila!= easy breathing.

When you look at these the front cylinders (not sure how they are technically numbered) still have a much longer pathway.
I measured these with a piece of wire through the guts [cylinder block flange] to [main pipe flange]......
front cyl=520mm, mid cyl.=430mm, back cyl.=240mm
Not ideal....but I believe you cant fit long pipes very easily into these vehicles without some major dosh ($).
I think exhaust gas velocities (at 6000rpm) are very high so by the time the next peak pulse comes along - the previous one is down in the main exhaust somewhere. Hopefully sucking on the next one.

PS - outlets are ID 40mm (1 9/16")
Main exhaust flange stock 50mm (2")

It is an art....'cause then you gotta time the pulses to the rpm peak you want....
I read somewhere recently that new cars even have some sort of exhaust back pressure system modulating each cylinder I believe. That makes it into a variable you can then change with rpm and broaden the characteristic.

Will be interesting.......

Sorry about the delay guys. I have been wrapped up in work and a couple of other projects. Also not getting PM notices. I will check and respond.

As promised here are the pictures. Hmmm...what happened to the pictures.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Okay there were too many pictures in the first posting. Here are a couple of more.

You can see there is a bit of a dent in one of the runners.

Last couple of pictures. As you can see the headers are not pristine and that with the stock motor mounts install/sitting was a bit of a challenge.

They are a bit "shinier" than they are in the pictures. They have a coating of concrete dust on them from some work at the house.

I don't think that's a dent - looks like they were fabricated that way?....
I mean the flat spot - not the "obvious" dent

You maybe right. I had them shipped to my shop for install.

You getting a shop to put em in...! cool...let me know much they charge...

Off topic a little.....
I was dreaming (as I do) ....and I was trying to see if I could get a 3D cloud done on the headers before I put 'em in....then pull them into CAD or solidworks.

Next - see if I can get a cloud done on the engine bay etc....and work out how we could get some longer pipes to fit so at least the pipes are all the same length.

Oh....and then I woke up.....

(been reading about dual systems and metalmalitia's (and others) dually setup)

Yeah it would be awesome to have a solidworks model of the engine bay by all means..!

Thanks. That is a little better than stock. The stock header outlets are 1 3/4", and the primaries are 1 1/2" if I remember.

I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, but I would really like to make some headers for my car. I don't see how equal length tubes are possible. But I would like to make something similar to that design with 1 3/4" primaries and 3" collectors. I think it can be done, it just will be hard.

we need that 3D cloud ...then a 3D model.....(3D printer?)....or maybe just some drawings from the model to setup the correct jig template.

I'm pretty sure the big boys suppliers for ford ...chysler use CNC Mandrel benders now to spit out exhausts
Develop the file from above and then slip some pipe in the production line = sweet bends and minimal joints.

....again time to wake up....

guys at work on the floor below us do the 3D cloud suveying of large structures etc to get "as builts" before we then go in and modify....I'm thinking I might drop in and see them. A little embarasing - ie: it being such a "self centric" kind of "foreigner request" - but hey...dont ask...dont get....

I love my exhaust, the sound is b-e-a-utiful !
I got my manifolds back from NW a couple of weeks ago and I have a date with the dyno (and a tuner) in a couple of weeks. I'll record it on the dyno and post it up. The only other video I have is from inside the car on a crowded road; I think I hit 50 before having to let up

These headers do look nice. I hope they put up some nice numbers.

Wink Re: VRP Headers

can anyone give me a positive to the statement.....

".....while you have the motor lifted (if that is really the case*) to put the VRP headers in then you might as well change the motor and tranny mounts.
Preferably with polies - otherwise add the torque bolt to preserve the new fluid mounts....."

that's if you think it is a fair assessment.

I can then poly fill the old ones for next time.....

* afterall a good wrench might be able to get them in without lifting the mounts.
