An implication of similar speed does not imply faster. And no, this does not apply to a straight line even remotely. True twisties, which require only mild throttle application possible to stay on the road, holds no advantage to the SRT.

Anyone who has followed my NA thru the Dragon in an SRT will have to give on this. The NA and the SRT are at least equal there. In fact I have encountered more competition from other 6 spd NA's than any SRT. Including my own, which is a 12 second car.

And I agree with you about the 6 speed.

Slolom test on our cars showed the NA to be more nimble.

Put it to bed boys, that goose is done cooked.

But straight line running, the kind of stuff you will do in real traffic, no contest.

My wife andIi race home often. Her in the SRT, me in the NA. In not one instance, entry ramp, turns or lane changeing, can my wimpy NA even approach the squirt power of the SRT. An extreme difference in go juice fromthe SRT. Instantanious, unrelenting, un forgiving. Just frickin fast!.

That goose is also done.

The fact is in 3years you will be thinking about getting a more powerful car to replace you NA Crossie. a stock Ford mustang GT can beat it today and a new one will do it then. But tha SRT will tickle your tailbone everytime you leave the other guy behind. And even if you don't play that way, you can drive sedate knowing you can and that you've got the best damn platform on the road for the money.

Buy the SRT while they are still a bargain. All they are doing from now on is getting more rare, more desired and going up in price. I cannot say that about the NA.

I would think an SRT6 mated with Paddle shifters and TCU tune would be hard to beat with a 6sp NA ??

I cannot see how you come to these conclusions.
Sorry.

In the twisties it's the driver, not the car.

Easy guys !!!!!! LOL !! I have a na buttttttttttttttttttttttttt ! The srt is the way to go like doc and franc said , I do like my NA ,it fun to drive , and it dose great for us , the thing for me for some reason is getting in to the hard tops dammit ,i just don;t fit in them , and Doc will tell ya that because i test drove his Blue SRT a few years ago , before he got the thing , For big guys best stick with the roasters and if you can find one in the SRT now your talken that one you need to put away , not many of those out there ,

It has little to do with the drivers ability to shift the auto stick. There are simply things one can do with a clutch that the autostick cannot.

You are welcome to visit Missouri and test your assumptions anytime.

Win or lose, I'll buy the beers.

We likely have to pass this year.

Crumpy and I are going to be very busy this fall. I must makehandicap mods on my son's new house in CT which is a good two weeks of carpentry, The ranch hasn't seen my butt for most of the year and needs some attending, the new obama Hell care laws are putting a strain on getting the bussiness ready for 2013 and then there is the real issue,,,,,money.

Aside from time, money is really dear.

I did enjoy the spring Dragon so withdrawal pains are minimal.

All that said, If I can find a way,Ii will be there to accept all challengers but, I will only buy beer ONCE!

The srt has a stiff / race suspension. If the roads you intend to use are full of pot holes, speed bump expansion joints and are generally in constant need of repair.....You may want to factor in your comfort tolerance. Both are very good cars regardless of the superior srt6 performance. The limited has a much softer ride more like that of a typical modern sports car. If you can it would be best to spend some time with each before deciding.

I have owned three N/As, two coupes and one roadster. I loved my N/As and they did great at the Dragon and on the twisties, but something was always missing that only the SRT-6 could cure as I usually don't get to drive in twisty terrain.

I do love my current coupe. I do miss two things though, the soft top and six speed. People are always surprised to what the '6 can do and there is no better bang for the buck in terms of horsepower.

Ooops. Looks like I have opened a bit of a hornets nest here! Thanks for all the advice and input chaps. Think it may have to be the SRT! Can't decide on a fixed head or a convertible though at the mo. The only thing I do HATE about the SRT is the rear spoiler though. (God it's ugly............in my humble opinion that is....Don't want to start another argument here). Just a thought? Has anyone converted an SRT to have a normal pop up spoiler from a standard car? Looks like cost to change from my mint 06 23K Mile Roadsterl to a similar milage SRT will be c £5000.

The wing grows on you. I didn't like it to start with, but now, to me, it helps to define the car.

Actually, I love the fixed wing myself, but I can see where some folks may not like it.

Your current attiitude is wrong. Change it.
The SRT wing is AWESOME! It tells the whole world that this car is the sh t and think twice before trying to screw with it.

The wheels are AMAZING! They willl clean easily with wheel cleaner or a power sprayer and they totally sparkle. They particularly stand out on a black car.

Unless your weather sucks, I'ld try to find a Roadster. Besides the better and easier resale, it's cool owning an uber-rare sports car.
