Strange looking Benz with an AMG emblem. Looks like a SRT6.

One has to admit, it fits almost as if it's home there.

What makes an AMG car different from a regular Benz? Could it be the handbuilt power plant under the hood? Hmmm, my sources say it is that and various AMG designed suspension/brake tweaks along with different tuning. So the SRT 6 Crossfire, built in the same plant as an SLK 32, using the same basic chassis, with the same hand built AMG 3.2 Kompressor engine, utilizing the same AMG engineers (albeit with Chrysler engineering input) upgrades to the suspension, brakes and tuning, is not an AMG?
Sounds pretty snooty to me. It IS an AMG, same as a Dino IS a Ferrari. Ferrari enthusiasts woke up and smelled the roses, MB d-tards will eventually do the same.
SRT, AMG, potatoe, potato.

Remember, this is only my opinion. You are entitled to yours as much as I mine.

and you would be wrong. to begin the slk32 was never built in karman. it was built in bremen. and to put this to rest the vin # is what makes the car an amg. my slk32 had an amg vin # and was titled as such. you sir have a chrysler which NEVER EVER HAD ANY VIN# CONNECTED TO AMG. does it have many high quality amg parts? yes. does it carry the same technology? yes. does it have the various amg body panels , logos, gauges, signature plates and interior details? no
call it snooty call it bravado call it bs . it doesnt matter. what matters is mercedes has a website dedicated to the amg vehicle and all thats needed to enter is a legit amg vin #. enter yours and say hello to me. if you can

I have a NA crossfire so it doesnt apply to me regardless.
I do appologize for my mis-information about build location of the SLK 32. Regardless, my opinion stands, snooty website or not.
Some may say that since it really isnt a Chrysler it can never be a Mopar. Mines a Mopar, whether anybody else agrees with me or not phases me none.
If I were to buy an SRT roadster on the future I would classify it as an AMG. Might even badge it as such and laugh in the faces of 'real' AMG owners who whine about it. Just to feel complete I would install an AMG gauge overlay, seat covers, floor mats just to make sure I cover all the bases.

you will also need the amg front bumper , the amg rear muffler complete with amg tips, the amg side skirts, the amg rear spoiler, the amg wheels and the amg badges.
your car is a chrysler be proud of it. if you do aspire to the amg styling and put it on your car please send me a pic so i can post it on a few of the many poser threads that the m/b boards have

LOL, this argument will go on forever. Chrysler doesn't want us, neither does MB. It's not a Mopar, and it's not an MB. Quite unique don't you think?

While it's MB inside, it has a more sexy body style. Let's just call it a Crossfire...

WELL! I guess i have a MB because i do have a MB vin. that's right i have a MB vin,, when Rudy installed my V8 into may car and did the wiring change it would only except the MB vin,, it is a 2004 SL55
so the only Crossfires that are really AMG is " Paul, Beaner and myself."
Hand build and Rudy built it is a AMG.

Geez, no need to get hot under the collar. And that last was just red meat, like you are looking
for a good scrap. I think I've seen enough of your posts over the years to feel you are not the
snappy type. But in this case, I think you might have just a bit too much passion on the plate.

With all due respect to Steve, I consider the SRT6 an AMG. That said, I do not accept that it has a "sexier body style." Nope. Nice and all, but nope.

close but no cigar jim. whats your title say? chrysler? then no amg. you can put a ferrari engine in there and sync it to the ecu but its not a ferrari, just a chrysler. for the life of me i cant understand why the masses cant accept the car for what it is
