Disassembling the SRT stock intake

Re: Disassembling the SRT stock intake
I am doing that now, the battery was flat when I posted. Twenty minutes later I was all set. I am getting excellent results with 32 T.P.I. blades. I used a sharp hooked knife on the rubber parts. I have an old blender and with luck it will all fit in a coffee can. I'll sell the filters, no sense in being wasteful.
I'll start a new thread on the How To, with the pictures I've taken. I'll be using a 18V Milwaukee Sawzall though, same diff.

Those tabs can be a PITA... Once those are out, the rest of the box is a cinch to get off.
Re: Disassembling the SRT stock intake
I think it should break down into 7 pieces with some luck . Those clamps on the rubber look permanent, I guess they will be ruined.
Storing it in one piece is asking for trouble, it's such an awkward SOB to handle.

It's off no problem, that's the easy part. I just want to break it down into pieces for packing away. Those tabs look awfully vulnerable, especially the bottom one.

The metal clamps joining the Y-pipe to the boxes are a SOB to get off... Unless you have the tool for it, of course. I didn't.
As for storage, I simply put them in a really wide/flat box, and bubble-wrapped the sharp edges extra thick. No issues with damage.
