Colder doesn't mean faster either, more spinning **** and boost in the supercharger makes it faster. Which makes it hotter, which makes it need a cooldown, which is what the intercooler is for. If I was to install a Meth injection system into my y pipe then yes, that would mean colder is faster because the cold oxygen is smaller therefore more air and go into the firing chamber and cause bigger hotter explosions, since fire needs air...

But we aren't talking a typical intake. This is the supercharger intake. Afaik all the intake does is INCREASE flow. The hp gains merely come from creating less vaccuum which works the supercharger more to keep the air suction.

But I'm definately not an expert. I'm not here to argue or "take over the intake market".

I just didn't want a front mount intake and I also disn't want to pay 800$ for a coupler...

Hope yall enjoy

The way I see it.. you spent a minimal amount for an increase in HP. Kinda closes the case. I've gotten poked at for the "cheapness" of my mods.. I don't buy 120 dollar steak dinners when Lonestar will serve up two fine steak dinners for 50 bucks. They both make a turd when it's all said and done..

BTW, just a suggestion, but a cheap way to monitor IAT's and many other parameters is the UltraGuage.
I have no affiliation with them, but I have had one for about a year now, and love it !

UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool
I freakin like that... Super awesome tool!!! Thank you!!!

It is what it is. Cold air intake isn't even gonna do **** for a supercharger. What's the difference between launching an ice cube or a cup of water at the sun. Besides velocity factors... Nothing. Them ***** are gonna melt and not even do a bit of difference. The intercooler is there to cool the supercharger. The supercharger intake is there to provide air to pressurize within the supercharger. More airflow, less restriction. But it needs to be filtered. Spinning parts and pressure and ****, bugs, yea... That's why they don't just leave that **** wide open! The stock confguration was restrictive as all hell and also deafens the banshee like wail of the supercharger... It's like giving removing the resonator and de-neuterizing the "mercedes mandated limitations" to the srt6 along with fuel economy prioritization over performance, in a marketing standpoint.

It's really not all that complicated. 900$ for an intake is some bull. Period. No point intrying to argue with me how much I'm missing out either because I would rather put that money into a better sc pulley, larger intercooler or even a meth kit.

Also, to do front mount, i forgot, 90$ kit shipped to move the vaccuum line out of the way.... More pointless money wasting. How much are the filters? Seriously. People waste money on some oretty dumb stuff imo. I try to save my money as much as possible!!!

That's why idle temps are higher by the way....

Your radiator isn't getting cooled off.....

Your engine is getting hot.

Your intercooler isn't getting cooled off, your supercharger isn't even sucking in any air at idle. You don't open up the throttle body until you hit the gas. Throw on an intake. That Sffff suction sound is the throttle body opening
up.

I assure you it has nothing to do with the fact that "ambient air isn't blowing at your filters... Your super charger SUCKS air as it creates a vaccuum within itself.... It's not forced air induction or "Ram Air".

What books?

It's all relative in peoples minds.. "you" wasted your money per some peoples standards..
The V-8 swap club see's srt6 mods as a waste.
The 10 second racer see the SRT6 with anything in it a waste.

Like it was stated in another post "I see why people don't openly disclose their mods".

But once again I do thank you for your footwork and sharing.. I'll sit at your table and have a beer with you and discuss how we gave up 10 horsepower for not having spent that extra 2 grand.. LOL.

We get it dude, its a nice job for a homemade kit. No need to keep defending it, and put down Robs kit. There is no right answer, there is no wrong answer. Just enjoy it.

I was merely providing facts. For those that obviously have things completely wrong inside of there heads..

Never once said anything bad about the functionality of the needswings intake. For 900$ it damn well better work...

Obviously too many drunken nights at "The Dragon" has your buttholes all puckered up for needswings. That's fine, massage his e-peen, but do it privately without tryin to bash me or damn right I'm gonna defend myself.

I found a way cheaper way to achieve exactly what an intake is meant to do. You guys can be all fabulous and shiny with your name brand that nobody but you about.

But don't try to Talk smack just because some of us aren't "smart enough" to pay a 1600% marked up coupler. Seriously. Get off my thread fanboys. Go rub eachother "the wrong way" somewhere else please.

I don't always take fat dumps on people's argument's and claims against my work...

... But when I do, I make sure to do it with a smile on my face.
