Default Is it too late to hop on the Wavetrack Train?...

I have some logisitcal issues - Like I live in Australia.

is it still possible to get one of these?
postage may be a problem. Given I'd have to send my orig. over from Australia (disable car) to have it moded...or.....find a 2nd hand one in US nearby and get it moded.
Then when it gets here, simple swap.
I'm not doing so much for draging, more to optimise the car and its attitude. But the odd "blast" is not uncommon and track days will be a must!

From a collectors view point (we have to conisder such things in Australia where there was only 30 or so of these SLK32's sold)... I'm keeping all the original parts, if in 20years some sod wants to put it back to spec..

I believe Rob is a distributer. Check out www.needswings.com or just give him a call.

no need to disable the car. you can contact rob @ needswings or unitrax in cali and have them ship you a wavetrac unit. then find a reputable shop and have them do the install. the only oem parts you will have left will be the spider gears. the ring and pinion and housing all get reused.

this really isnt a diy unless you have the tools to measure backlash and have done this before. better to buy the unit and have a custom or speed shp that has done quaiffe or similar diff installs and pay them. should be no more than 250$ to 400$ depending on the shop
you could do the diff housing from the car and reinstall but the wavetrac should be installed into the housing by a pro
