Default A Question about the Wavetrac...

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I looked and I can't find the thread....

Anyway, does the ESP being on or off or the Winter/Summer mode being selected make any difference to a Wavetrac equipped car?

Seat of the pants: Doesn't seem to make any difference.....

thanks

w/s wont have any effect. that simply starts the car in 2nd gear. as for the esp, you most likely wont notice the wavetrac during daily driving. its at the edge of the esp kicking in that you feel the biggest difference in having the wavetrac

I don't remember your mods, but if you are in that 400hp range and ripping your tires, then you see a difference in the wavetrac. If you are stock or close to it, you won't see a big difference unless in a situation you need traction, like slick roads and such. And even then, you won't see any difference if your traction control is on. This is a great mod for those who push their cars to the limit out of the hole. Therefore not worrying about losing the spider gears with the hard launches.

Mods.......a few:

C3 pulley
Headers
Wavetrac
Dual CAI
Tune

and a few others

I haven't had to push it yet, but looking forward to it. Maybe I can find one of those real fast GTO's those clowns are always crowing about and I can test it out on one of them.......we'll see....

Since installing my Wavetrac I can't remember the traction control intervening except on the dyno 1/4 mile run when I forgot to turn it "off". Before the Wavetrac it would cut power over bumps at WOT.

sorry man. I can't keep up with all the different directions people take to make HP. If you launch that baby hard, you will see the difference. Especially how she will handle coming at of the hole. No more spinning one tire, or hoping the other kicks in, lol. She will launch just like the old muscle cars now. Like Les stated, when you turn the TC off, it use to override anyway and kick in, costing you precious time. Now, you just launch and go...no override...

you don't want to have the TC off and nail it when turning left or right from dead still,, you will loose it if not ready for what is about to happen. I leave my TC on all the time except when at the track.

I absolutely despise the TC. When I first bought this car, I wasn't always thinking about turning it
off (never really was completely off), and there were several times when I was turning some corner
after stopping for the stop sign, and I'd step down on the gas, tires would spin a little as I would
start around the corner, and *blam* the TC would kick in and I'd lose all power.

Sometimes, in the traffic around here, you have to take the "gap" you get to be able to get onto
the road. These cars are great for that, and for those of us who hate when someone pulls out from
a side street, only to creep along (forcing you to hit your brakes and shed 20 mph or more) and don't
want to do that to others. When the TC kicks in, not only do you cause the folks coming along the
road behind you to be inconvenienced (polite folk don't like to inconvenience anyone), but you run
the risk of being rear ended.

For that reason, when ever I crank the motor, the very first thing I do is push that little button to
turn off the TC (or should I say, to turn down the TC).

I agree with coyote, my traction control goes off every time I fire the engine. I am much happier with my inputs.
It is a pain if I want to drift a corner, big time. If I cross a painted line while pushing to join traffic, the traction control gives me heartache.
