SRT6 Front bumper
SRT6 Front bumper
When i bought my crossfire it had a small hole in the front bumper due to the previous owner hitting a rock in the road. Question - Will i need a new bumper or could it be patched. Also I need the interior front driver splash guard for the tire because it was damaged. Any thoughts?
Re: SRT6 Front bumper
It really depends on how much labor it will cost to be 'patched'. Sure it can be repaired depending on the damage. A new bumper cover can be bought for roughly $300 or so.

PS There is a local shop the reconditions bumper covers and has most models in stock for exhange, including SRT6. They are more expensive than buying new from the dealer.

Re: SRT6 Front bumper
I had the license plate holes filled in on my SRT6 and you cannot see where they were. Caveat -- I took it to the dealer because it needed some body work around the door handle, and they were able to patch/paint the bumper for an additional $200. He said they really needed to take the bumper off, but I asked them to do it the "cheaper" way and it came out amazing. So it can be done, but you need to find a quality shop.
Re: SRT6 Front bumper
I like to watch a British show called "Wheeler Dealers" that buys old classic cars and then fixes them up to resell. The last episode I watched they worked on a 1985 Audi Quattro that among other problems had a good size hole in the front bumper. They were able to patch it with a compound - sand it - then paint it. It came out great and didn't look too hard to do. I have a couple of holes in my front bumper where one of the previous owners tried to attach a splitter. Not a great idea in my opinion. Anyway, the hardware that they used is still on my car and I need to remove them then fill in the holes. I will then have to take it to a paint shop to be repainted. It is not on the top of my list to do since I have other issues that are more important. Good luck!

lol !! Thanks for the explaintion. I really like that show. I have an old 1972 Datsun 240Z that I have been trying to get back up and on the road so I try to get tips from WDer's. They do well getting the cars looking good. I loved the one on the Lotus Elan. One of my favorite cars. They say they make money, but never figure in all of the labor that Edd has to do. If they did, they would always lose money.
