Default Opinoin regarding NeedsWings SRT6 Cutout downpipes

Anybody have some dyno or experience regarding needswings downpipes. Isn't there a risk that the backpreasure is dropping to much?

I don't have these, but I do have some of NW's other stuff and they are all top notch. I have no reason to believe that Rob would sell something that doesn't work or is not safe. Their site claims .2 sec improvement in 1/4 mile so there is a power gain. A mathematician may be able to estimate the power gained from the lower ET.

I have been behind someone with them open (bigkid) and they are ridiculously loud, but sound unlike any other XF I have heard.

Ask Jim, he will have some answers as he has all the goodies on his 6

Unless you spend a lot of time in the twisties, on a road course, or at the drag strip...the cutouts may be a bit much...maybe just think about getting the cat delete downpipes...then will provide a little extra power, and a bit more sound, without the noise violations the cutouts would give you.

I have the downpipes with the cutouts. I rarely open them to tell the truth. They sound nice closed. Without the cats you have a strange exhaust smell that lets everyone know what you did. I installed a teflon Y pipe and downpipes at the same time and saw 26 hp gain with them open. Maybe I had bad cats? I don't know and don't care. You will love the power. You may not like the smell or sound. One good thing about them is they're bolt on so you can always switch back and forth if you don't mind a few hours of work.

What di you mean by the teflon Y pipe? Do you have some pictures of the installation?

You can find a picture on Needswings website. It's the outlet pipe from the supercharger that transitions to a Y and connects to the manifolds. Rob sells one that is teflon coated on the inside and has a heat coating on the outside.

Hey Les. I'm considering getting a used set from another member and was wondering if I should install high flow rear cats because I may not like the smell, as you mention. Does anyone know what high flow rear cats might be a good choice for these NW's downpipes? And do these clean up the air enough to be worth the effort? Perhaps I should be asking Rob this, but I don't see any listed on his site.
