Thumbs up In search of my first SRT6!

All,

I hope everyone is having a great day! My name is Matt and I am searching for my first SRT6!

I currently have a 2010 Maxima that my wife and I are contemplating selling (it's my car) in an effort to save some money. I have always loved the Crossfire's, but after riding in one of my buddy's SRT6's a few years back, I was hooked!

In an effort to keep this thread short & to the point, here is what i'm looking for:

SRT 6 Crossfire
Convertible
Black
Less than 50k miles
Excellent Condition
Priced less than $18k

If you know of anyone who has one for sale that meets those specifics, please ping me direct via: tmattprice@me.com

Thank you,

Matt

Most of the low milage one's I was looking were closer to $19-22 (asking) bit you could offer $18. Verts in general will cost more as the weather warms.
Happy hunting.

The Beep,

Thanks for your reply. Yea, I came across a very nice one from a guy who was asking $26,500 for one; however, the book on it, even in excellent condition, was only 20k (all things considered). I tried negotiating, but his idea of 'coming off that price a little, was down to $23k as his bottom dollar. I realize it is a rare car; however, I cannot justify paying that kind of money for a now 7 year old car that is worth 20k or below. Guess i'll just have to keep my eyes open. I've found quite a few for around $15k; however, they are mostly coupes. I'm 6' and 250 lbs, and believe it or not, the roadster is a perfect fit; however, the coupe is too claustrophobic and feel overall smaller (even with seating adjustments), so I really want a roadster.

Let me know if you hear of anything.

Thanks again,

Matt

I saw one somewhere with 14K miles for under $21K. $26K is nuts. There was 1 in Dallas for $26K. I called them with the KBB price but they didn't seem to care.

If you're patient and are willing to fly to get it (or have it shipped but you should really have a look at it first) you can find an ultra-low mileage for $20-21, moderate mileage $17-20, and higher mileage for $15-17.

I wouldn't consider paying less than $15 unless the guy's an idiot and giving it away, otherwise you'll just be dumping money into it to keep it running.
There's fun in the search.

Beep,

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking (price-wise).

I was hoping to find one around 15k with about 30-40k miles. That would be my ideal find. Problem is, i'm searching for a needle in a haystack, but not just any needle, a certain kind lol! I want Black & Convertible & SRT6 lol. Hard to find, have been looking for a week now (which is a short time), but have only came across 2-3 that fit the bill, but all are 20k+.

Only other "hitch" in my plan is if I sold my 2010 Maxima, there is no guarantee I can find what I want within a reasonable time, so not sure what I would do in the interim lol

In regard to the Vert you are looking for one of 928 cars total. Be patient. If you are going to get a SRT 6 Vert and dont want to spend more than 15-16k then check ebay/autotrader/ect but realize you wont see those prices until this fall. The low milage cars are going up in value.

I know. I wanted an ultra-low mileage triple black and there was only 1 I could find in america. Ended up paying $125 over private pty blue book but only had to travel a couple hundred miles to get it so I'm happy with the deal.
Maybe you could sell the Nisson and drive a rental for a couple weeks or see what Carmax or a Nisson dealer will buy it for. Just think'n.

Yea, i've done the online Carmax trade-in appraisal and was actually insulted by them only offering 20k for my car. Window sticker was $40,100 and is the SV Premium with every option available, 2010. So, being that is only has 26k miles on it, and just barely 2 years old, I won't let it go for any less than $25-$26k.

Yea, if I could sell it, I would just be afraid I wouldn't be able to find one within a time period that is reasonable then have to settle for something that I don't really want and would have rather kept the Maxima lol.

I haven't even decided if I would be willing to give up the room & amenities the Maxima has, it is also my very first new car (had 384 miles when I took possession).

We'll see !

Quick note. Hagerty Insurance recently named the Crossfire SRT-6 a collector car that should no longer decrease in value. You can still get lucky, considering the economic state, but, like Jason mentioned, your hunting for 1 of 928(less if you account for color preference). I think you're going to have to adjust your price point, even for a moderate mileage example. Might want to make it out to a gathering or two. That's how we found our 6, and at a steal of a price. Had we waited 5 more minutes to call, another forum member would most likely be enjoying our beast!

You wont have TOO hard a time getting a great SRT in the 14-18k range. I got mine dead center of that range with 13k miles

Yes but he's looking for a convertible, black with low mileage.......
one of 928 originally, and with some totalled, who knows how many are left
Prices may be what the market demands, but I wouldn't sell my 7800 mile convertible for $18k, and I'm sure most owners with low mileage ones wouldn't either, unles they are in a bind
I paid $14k for a 26000 mile coupe two years ago, so I would say he'll definitely get a coupe for that, but he doesn't want one

Guess that's what happens when an insurance company finds out there are close to 3,000 people crazy about their SRT's. Kim talked to one of their reps at Amelia Island's Concours, and less than a week later their website named the car a collector. I'll have to look and see where exactly, but she started reading off something about how they don't foresee the value going any lower than where it's at right now, just up!

So, figure that out of 928, less than 235 would have come in black(if they split the color option evenly) and it has to have low miles. Might as well get an N/A roadster and slap a turbo on it for that money. At least then you can get a stick.

Not sure about that even split thing. The vast majority that I've seen have been either blue or gray.
Oh, and start throwing turbos on the NA's and they'll be dropping like flies. Why do you think the wing is fixed on the SRT? The NA's don't have the aerodynamics or braking for that mod.

A while back I figured that based on the SRT stats that there were probably more like 330 black SRT convertibles made.
