Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
I have been searching on here all day and finally found a cheaper solution for the rear camber when lowering the crossfire. Specialty Suspension Part Number 28840. basically like a KMAC, but different bushing materials.
Look at their website, as many placese do not list it for the Crossfire.

Guys, I am making these on order with the low volume and short turn time.. waiting for rod ends is the longest time and that is only 4-5 days.
Price is $225.00 + $14.50 shipping....

Re: Cheaper Rear Camber Kit!
It requires 2-bushings per side as it's a 2-pc setup (same as KMAC). If you read that site you listed, it specifically says that 1 "set" is for 1-wheel. FWIW, the KMAC bushing removal tool is junk. It's supposed to be used with an impact wrench to pull the old bushing out. I tried many times, and it was clear that this method would not work. I finally used a press and a spare chunk of stock to push/rip the center out of the old bushing, then a hacksaw to split the old bushing's sleeve... and then a chisel to get the sleeve out. Much more work than I had originally thought. Good Luck!
Re: Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
Yes. I see now that you need to order 2. I only read the eBay add and called the company to confirm it will work. I was thinking it was a single bushing per side for a single link arm like the other car I just did (KMAC for Audi). I never even looked at my suspension yet. So, I just ordered another one at Amazon.com for $69.44 (free shipping). Total cost for 2 was $135.65. Still cheeper than any other option that I have found. If the bushings are a big pain I can always blow them out with the torch, but I have a 20 ton press. Also, if the KMAC tool is junk (last one I used on the Audi worked fine), then that is more reason not to pay nearly triple price.
Re: Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
Based on that Amazon price, they are a great deal. I tryed torching one(which didn't work too well) and finally threw it in a 40-ton aircraft press at work. A 20-ton should work fine though. The tricky part is to keep it perpendicular so the press goes though it straight and not gouge the walls. Please let us know how they work out. I know a lot of people complained about the poly KMACs squeeking. These look more like the OEM rubber, so might be quieter.
Re: Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
I will concur the K-mack press kit is total Sh*5 it's junk and poor design but the bushings are top quality and i have zero squeaking or noise , and even at the low price of the kit you purchased after you get thru cussing and fussing while trying to install ,you would have been better off buying Mikes and having them installed in 30 minutes , just IMO , Each owner will alway travel their own path and I wish you success and please share your experence with us after the install... Happy motoring

Re: Cheeper Rear Camber Kit!
You should. Dropping it about an inch will require 1 degree Camber correction. The camber kits are available at Needswings, unless you know how to make your own.
