Hi,

i've took a look in the parts catalogue and it seems that there are 2 different SRT6 front fracias available for the SRT6.

Canadian: 05159186AA
US/world wide: 05159185AA

Does anybody know what's the difference between these two versions?

More than likely the numbers .. if your talking about the bumper cover ,, never seen but 1 style for the 6.

 

I think you're right but there would be one discernable difference.....the price.

 

That may be the part that met the Canadian frontal impact specifications before they realized that they were only a fraction away from one another anyway and allowed US front bumpers in as legal.

 

Yes, i meant the "front bumper". But it's only the frascia that's different. The whole construction behind the front frascia seems to be the same (identical parts).

 

It was my understanding that some of the first Crossfires imported into Canada from the US had to have the 'Bumper impact absorbers' replaced to meet the RIV requirements but nothing different was needed for bumpers or fascia. Then in 2009 they did not require modification for entry into Canada.

 

I assume that if you take off the bumper then the foam absorbent stuff comes with it, Auto makers are not liable to sell you just the part you want if they can package it with parts you do not, In this case they sold the complete assembly to make more money and discourage importation of US cars at the same time.
The parts list shows a different fascia but the foam stuff has the same part numbers so maybe the fascia is slightly different on the inside somehow.

 

Here I thought they were talking about small shock type absorbers mounted behind the bumper rebar.

180.....yes I see that items 5,6,7 are the molded energy absorbers. Thanks for the enlightenment.
