Put a WWII veteran in the passenger seat and drive him through downtown Sacramento.

I was privileged to ferry First Sergeant Paul Plesha along the Veterans' Day parade route along with other members of Capitol City Mopars. All old iron from '62 to '74 plus my SRT6. Of course, I was focused on driving and could not respond, but I lost count of how many people lining the streets gave the car a shout out.

Paul was an absolute hoot. He was in the California National Guard at the start of the war and got shipped to the Aleutian Islands, where his barracks was bombed the day he arrived. Finished the war as a 1Sgt training new recruits in Fort Hood, TX. Then he got out and went on with his life.

God bless them all, and may they have many more vertical days.

Last year a Bridge around here was named the Medal Of Honor Bridge. It was very humbling to see nine or so Medal of Honor recipients arrive by helicopter for the ceremony.
