Default Purchasing SRT

Insurance has paid my car, I am now ready to purchase it's replacement. I am considering purchasing this off ebay. I'd like to pass it by the community to warn me of anything I have overlooked. Can you tell me anything I need to know before sending him money? It appears the car has been listed by at least 2 ebay sellers Chrysler : Crossfire | eBay

Sorry wrong link! Chrysler : Crossfire | eBay

In the description, he states " In fact, I haven't even registered the car yet so therefore, the car has only two (2) registered owners."

This statement was thrown deep in the middle of the "description" - what do you think of that?

I liked the other one better

Looks to me that the centre caps have not been mounted properly. They need to be rotated so that notch in the cap fits in the groove on wheel. These could fly off at high speeds.

I saw that car when it was listed. It is an AWESOME car to have. I have never bought a car unseen before and probalby never will. I would like to see it in person, along with the title you get when you hand the money over. I hope it works out for you.

Thats LOW mileage! Unfortunately it's on the other coast.

The "AutoCheck" reports the Blue SRT as having a Loan/Lien record(s) - doesn't that mean the car isn't paid off and the owner doesn't actually "own" the title?

Most likely it is not paid off. But he should have a legit copy of it. Sometimes you can make the transaction at the place of lien and they will forward the title to you once available. Different rules/policies everywhere. I would just like some assurance from someone that I would get the title.

He just told messaged me - he paid for it in cash and has the title, he just never resisted it. I guess that means the car can't be driven on the streets legally. I am going to have a mechanic go to his house for the inspection, if all goes well, I'm back in a SRT!

I just went through this, for the first time ever make a deal sight unseen, but with provisions deal would be off if the car were not as told when I first see it - before handing over the full payment. In my case Thank God all went smoothly. It was a low 7913 miles at the turn over. Building up rapport by communication back and forth till the final piece falls in place would help. Good Luck on the purchase, exciting time! Can’t wait to hear more!

So what happened Albert? If it didn't go as you wanted, my wife is ready to move on from her 42K mile SSB SRT6 and we are only 30 or so miles from you. Good car, not perfect but $14K would get it...
