Got my srt to the track in the cool weather and before I start my modding, really was shooting for a 12.9 but got a 13.03 as my fastest and beat a G8 gxp which was running 12.5 all night so I was happy.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it would appear to me to be a hollow victory. First of you did well, but beating someone who did not get a good run and who would have whipped your butt had he ran his normal time is like beating Usain Bolt in the 100 meters after he had stumbled out of the starting blocks.

 

a wins a win to me. i happen to drive better then a faster car. same if you raced bolt for money and he stumbled. would you pay up or would he?

 

To set any kind of speed record, you have to make 2 runs. Try him again and see what happens. More than likely it will be you seeing him cross the finish line first. Hollow victory for sure.

And if Usain Bolt stumbled off the starting line, he would still beat any member of this forum in a 100-yard dash!!! So you would lose that bet.........

 

No you happened to drive faster than this guy in that run for whatever reason, he's already shown you that your car is not in his cars league yet. When you can do a 12.5 then you can maybe see who is the better driver on a consistent basis.

As for the Bolt race I'd say take the money and run away and not race for double or nothing.

 

in drag racing, a win is a win. you can be fast, but if you can't handle the launch and be consistant, you will get beat... nice first run for stock, a few mods and you will kick his *** consistantly....and for the record, I would believe the G8 has been up against a fast SRT6 before is why he choked...

welcome to the sensibility from mr 180. this is how he is Check almost all of my threads and you have a comment from him. At first I found him a bit mean but now I just laugh at them. He was the one who made me go through with my N/A to SRT6 white purchase. So some good can come out of 180.

Or not. If 180 hurt anybodys feelings, then they need to grow a thicker skin, IMHO.

 

Nobody is hurt here, I got the win light he did not, why would I be hurt, most races are decided on the line, doesnt matter who you beat if you cross the line first you win. If my win wasnt good enough 180 can race him and prove me wrong?

 

IMHO some days some comments can be somewhat negative
But hey, we are all in the same forum and there is enough room for all of us.

True, a win is a win. I've had slower cars beat me too because I spun off the line like the G8 did. It's frustrating to say the least. Some one told all his friends that he beat a high powered SRT6, and he beat me fair and square. If the track was prepped better, then I would have walked him like that G8 would have walked you. That G8 did cover a lot of ground nearly catching up to you. It's the driver who wins the races. It doesn't matter, shoulda, coulda, woulda, you beat him fair and square. Next time tell that G8 guy to warm his car up longer, then he may have a chance. And for what 180 said, he's not a hater. He just sees it like he does. He's one of us. I saw the GTP spin bad off the line too. You deserved it because you got the good jump on him while you pulled away, and he tried to hook up. I hate being on the losing end of that many times. It's a terrible feeling. By the way, cooler weather? Where did you race? It's still hot as heck down here and my best was only a 12.2 yesterday in the sweltering afternoon sun. It was so hot that I left a few hours early.
