Default Joining the SRT-6 Family

Some of you may know by now, but I will be picking up an SRT-6 Coupe hopefully tomorrow or on Monday. She's Aero Blue with less than 25k on the clock. I got a good deal on it ($17k) and the dealer is repainting both bumpers and repairing some rim rash. She's bone stock for now, but I already have a shopping list of upgrades that I will be getting soon namely an NW CAI, EC SC pulley, and EC tune.

It'll be sad to let the convertible and '04 coupe go, but I'm definitely feeling the need for speed.

That Kompressor will make a real difference up there in Denver.

Congrats...

I like the color but it needs a red stripe

Aero Blue was originally my favorite color for the SRT-6, but after owning a graphite for a year, the color really grew on me. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to come...

Looks good Evan!!! Congrats on the new car. Did you sell the other two? If you traded them in don't forget to put a car with the forum info in the glove box!!!

You are going to love the SRT6 - its a blast to drive. What did you name this one?

Kim, trading in both. Good idea on the forum info. I will definitely put in some info about the forums in strategic places. Name has been chosen and she will be called "Sadie".

Don't forget brakes Evan. I have no idea how the stockers would be, but after smoking my Na's last fall my first step was upgrading my brakes. I would at least replace the lines and go to high temp fluid. Once you get the big three pulley tune CAI your will be happier than a pig in slop :-).

The brakes on the SRT are bigger, but could still use more than 2 pistons up front. I would highly recommend braided brake lines and high-temp fluid. I would also have to agree with your choice of upgrades. Doesn't take much more than the 3 little add-ons to wake the beast. Hell, with just a CAI, I ran a 13.1 @ 106mph with the crappiest tires, no launch, and a .805 R/T. That reminds me, get a bigger HE, preferably a NW unit as it is much larger. Times went down quick when the temp went up.

Enjoy the new ride, I know I get a smile every time I look at our carport!

Yeah, well wait until you are on the highway. Is there a Highway Patrol in CO.? I would donate now to their pension fund and get a window sticker. You are going to need all the help you can get. Unlike your N/A, the SRT's don't start breathing until 80....have fun, be careful....

Yeah, I will have to get used to that new speedometer. I had no problem getting it up to 90 on the way home on one small stretch of the road.
