Go try it out
I can't believe you're telling an obviously young and inexperienced driver like this to go out and "don't be afraid to accelerate hard" and "go out and try it". When she snaps back and comes around into another vehicle or worse, then what? I would advise to take an advanced or high performance driving course, they are very popular these days and are a lot of fun. They can teach you techniques like trailbraking and throttle control that can help you through a tight turn as quickly as possible and varies w/ the radius. Sliding, breaking traction, spinning, drifting, whatever you're doing or call it; these are all ways that reduce your forward momentum and wear out your tires! It also SLOWS you down if what you're really trying to do is go fast. I agree with a previous poster that this is probably not the car for you if your need is to drift and slide a lot. It is designed to go fast in a controlled manner, and at speeds meant for the Autobahn. Maybe you should sell your car. Just sayin'.

If this person finds a nice big parking lot, or a safe private road, I see no problem in practicing power sliding... I didnt say go to the nearest heavy flow intersection and give it a whirl!!! I assume this person has plenty of common sense since he or she bought an SRT6... futher more.. this person asked for advice on how to do this... I gave the advice according to what he or she asked for, therefore I do not see the problem. In addition, this person has power slided/drifted before as indicated by the OP, given that it was a FWD vehicle. And THERE you have my rebutle.

wow dinasrt... i cant believe you seriously called me a girl, at least kolme gave me a chance saying he or she lol. and, while i do apprechiate your concern dinasrt, ive gotta side on kolme with this one. while im not a pro my any means, with traction control OFF i can power slide no issue, the issue has NEVER been powersliding and i think the thread has gotten a little off topic.

the issue is still how can i fix the computer, or my technique so that the computer doesnt stop the car the SECOND i lose traction. how can i make the computer give me a little lee-way (or however you spell it lol)

When Dina said "she" he was referring to the car.

Assuming is the key word there. And when I said "she", yes I meant the car. It doesn't matter girl or guy with anybodys comments here, but since you brought it up; with a handle like ohboykittens I'm thinking you're either a girl or gay. And I mean nothing derogatory by that.

Lightbulb Re: traction control issues

I think the issue is that the OP is trying to trail brake as opposed to drift. You can do a certain amount of trail braking in these vehicles in their stock condition with the traction control off, but don't expect to drift or do donuts unless you disable the yaw sensor as Waldig has.

These cars are very tail happy with no ESP at all and is probably the main reason that the engineers have the ESP in place.

Adjusting your technique to the car is probably the easiest option short of selling it off.

I have learned that if you adapt your technique, the benefits to your overall skill are well worth the effort.

Cheers!
