You're only off by $1,200. Guess that's what happens when you're at the right place at the right time!!! And in Florida I've seen at least 3 more for sale under $15K. Now you better start worrying about those little spoiled teens with license in hand. Thankfully, they're driven by the media, so they won't have half a clue as to what an SRT-6 is, or that they even existed.

I agree, it is sad to see these cars becoming so cheap that they are being purchased by kids that have no appreciation for them. Oh well..... I guess it will make my garage queen more rare than it already is as the others get destroyed and ragged out.

I didn't know garage queens had time slips? At least I know mine was adult driven, previously owned by a forum member, 33K miles and bone stock aside from a CAI(still have OEM intake). My only complaint is that it isn't Aero Blue Not that I would paint a car this rare.......

Well, now you know. I don't know what you are trying to get at with your comment, but let me educate you.

My car is and has always been adult driven. I am 50 years old and take meticulous care of my car. I have performed 100% of the maintenance on her since I purchased her. There is not one dent, scratch or blemish on her. I have three performance mods.... CAI, pulley, and ECU tune (and, yes.... I still have all of the OEM parts.). She has 27K miles on her, and is detailed more than driven. Like many car enthusiasts, I have a passion for the car, and have taken her to the strip a total of 4 times. I now know what she can do, and do not have to be an *** on public roads to do so. I have a record for all time slips for those days. I have actually put less than 200 miles on her this year. If that does not qualify as a garage queen to you then fine. I am not one to quibble over words, but you seem to have made a jab that I do not appreciate (As if your car is more special than mine). If yours has a CAI, it was put on for a reason, so don't be too sure as to how yours was driven prior to your purchase. Regardless, these engines are meant to be driven.... and preferably by responsible adults that know how to maintain and care for them.

If you want to further discuss this then PM me and lets not hijack Sean's thread any further.

Bloody thread-jackers...

haha. Nothing like a good ole thread jacking to welcome someone to the forum.

Personal Opinion - Negatives

Feels like you have to climb a foot in the air before you get into the car and sit 6 ft closer to the ground. (Felt rather strange having such the large step up just to sit low to the ground again) - comparing it to the 300zx of course.

A little difficult to tell where the front of the car is. Just because it is so flat at the front. Despite the fact I like the shape of the car.

I can understand now why people feel a little claustrophobic in the cabin. The divider between the boot and the front seat sits up so high that it feels like a giant wall between the two.

Going through as much as I can in my mind weighing up everything about the car.

Lots of positives about it as I have already mentioned.

Will keep you all informed of my decision.

The first time I sat in the driver's seat I suffered a cramp in my hamstring! No fun being 6'4" and 265 lbs in almost any two-seater out there.

Hi,
I have a October 2006 SRT convertible.
Bought in March, fantastic car, quick and loads of fun.
Fitted all chrome to screen, grill, vents and had roll bars chromed. Wheels powder coated.
Now bought 2004 Startech coupe for restoration.

Definitely in the process of purchasing the sexy beast.

Just waiting for the finance company to come good for me and give me the nod.

Jumping through hoops for them at the moment. Frustrating is an understatement.

Hopefully all goes through and I will be driving this sexy beast in the VERY NEAR FUTURE!

Goodluck Sean!

If you have problems with your finance company let me know I'm a finance broker I can get you a great deal and a really good interest rate!

I am an official owner of a Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6.

What a beautiful car. Such a joy to drive.

And it's surprisingly not too bad on the fuel. Or perhaps that is just me comparing it to the 300zx that has been running rich for quite some time now.

haha

Either way - Huge thanks to Kolevski for his help with it and also to Aussiedude for selling it to me.

Absolutely loving the beast.

I think I clocked up close to 200km's today alone.

No problems Sean!

I hope you're having a blast with it. You should meet up with Lacerdashoon he lives in Brisbane I think. His car has all the bells and whistles of mods. Would be interesting to see you 2 go down the q/mile.

John.

What a day!

Jumped in the beast and took her for a strap through the normal mountain run that I do.

Through the twisties of course. Fan freaking tastic handling. And must say I love the heavier steering. Gives a more solid feel.

Strapped against my old mans Honda CB900 from a stand still and kept up quite easily and even started to break away from him. Very touchy on the throttle.

I read somewhere something about resetting the accelloration response or something?

Can someone remind me how it is done?

Even the fuel economy isn't too bad. Managed to rack up another 350km's today not taking it easy by any means. Only used just over half a tank. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

Will upload some pics that I took when I get a chance. Not great pics unfortunately. But that will change in time.

Great day had indeed.

Wow I only get about 400k's per tank and during the week I drive like a grandma! Something must not be right with my baby

Reset it whenever it starts to feel lazy. City driving will do that. I reset every month.

That's a beautiful car you got yourself. I spoke to the seller prior to you buying. Nice guy. Knows his stuff. The mods are great to have. Now, don't use up all your points at once! They have to last 3 years remember

Remember the throttle learn reset sequence:
Below are the steps that I copied and that I follow:

1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.

2. Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor (to the kick-down) and hold for five seconds.

3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.

4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset. (do it when you're parking her for the night)

IMHO the throttle response is much better after a reset.

*Also reset my sunroof today by holding it UP for 15 sec. Now it slides back in one smooth motion...and doesn't inch back bit by annoying bit. (Apparently this needs to be reset after any battery disconnection)

Happy driving mate

Hey there fate I know I'm a little late with this reply, I'm also from Australia and own an SRT black convertible roaster crossfire 2006 model. I have had mine since brand new I have well under 55,000kms and have never had a problem with mine.
I have also never seen another one on the road over here since Ive had it.

I'd love to know if you ended up getting a 2006 black CF..these cars seem to be very rare over here.
If you like flick me an emial to
