Talking Its a rookie thing, and you don't wanna do it !!

Well here is an odd one for you. Check out the time slip, my first for the day and note the results, as they are.

It was my second time at the track to try and prove the modifications to my intake system. The track was just opening and I got a bunch of runs in, in the first 1/2 hour as there were few others showing up due to the threat of rain.

So take a look and think about what I did and see if it makes sense or if you can explain it. Yes the lights were working correctly. More to follow in a day or so. You dont wanna repeat my attempts.....................ENJOY W DY

For some reason I don't think the 60' time is correct. I haven't seen anyone in a SRT or any other street car cut a 1.363 60' time....That is just ridiculous, especially considering the general consensus is for ever .5sec you can shave off your 60' time, you shave a full second off the 1/4 mile ET.

If you actually did cut a 1.363 60', then I bow to you.

Other than that, for your second time out, cutting a sub-eight second 1/8th mile ET is a good place to start.

See you at Carlisle.

I think so, as I was running streets....summer compound, but streets....a really good hard launch with slicks, just might rocket you an extra .4........

That is really different......

On Father's day I ran a 1/4 at 11.92 @114.3 with 1.726 60' and the 1/8 was 7.655 @ 91.51 with 4.957 at 330'.....

yours is 1.363 60', 4.977 at 330' and 7.92 @ 83.64mph at the 1/8 mark...

I would be very interested to see what your 1/4 mile time and speed would be...

It looks like you are ROCKETING off the line and then acting normal by the 330' number.....given what looks like is happening, I would think your 1/4 would be in the 12's.... 83mph at the 1/8 mark is about 6-8mph slow....

Yeah.... that does not make any sense. If you had a 1.3 60' and a 7.9 1/8 with 83mph, then you fell flat on your face after the 60'. The only way that would make sense is if you were pissin on yourself at the 60' mark and let off the throttle. LOL I might be if I launched a 1.3 60'.

I looked up my slips to see if I had anything in the 7.9 1/8 range, and my best match is:

60' 1.799
330' 5.184
1/8 7.997
1/8 mph 88.16
1000' 10.360
1/4 12.351
1/4 mph 112.97

yours:

60' 1.363
330' 4.977
1/8 7.920
mph 83.64

But, according to this, you were 2 tenths faster than my time after 330' also. So, it would have had to of fallen on its face between 330 and the 1/8. Did you let off before you finished the 1/8th? Something is funny, but if the 1.3 is accurate, then WOW.... I want that mod for sure.

I found some old time slips from when my car was stock....for what it is worth....
1.88 60'
8.2801 1/8 ET
85.08 1/8 MPH

just found another old one from stock days
1.94 60'
5.47 330'
1/8 ET 8.3621
1/8 MPH 84.60

I don't have my Muncie runs with the mods, still looking for them....the above are from the US41 days...

LOL.... that would really be a rookie mistake. Good catch as all his other 60's were much slower.

I'd say that is some REALLY deep staging... lol

Also, the title makes much more sense now!
