I have a feeling that it was just a bad batch of those OE IC pumps. I
had one fail, and within about a year the replacement (warranty, so OE
pump) failed. Again, a warranty replacement, and I've not had another
problem in close to 5 years. I've got 99K miles on the clock, so it isn't
like I don't drive the car. But the last OE IC pump seems to be holding
strong.
