I am too getting interested in this kit. I have a question regarding the wear and tear issues. Are there any? Also, what TCU alterations must be made for optimal fun? Speedriven or EC?

Many thanks and have a great day to all of you!

No wear or tear issues. The only moving part is the MB paddles. There is no need to do anything to the TCU. This kit does not alter the shift quality. It only moves the shifting from the stick to the steering wheel. The stick still works normally. Now if you want to modify the TCU or trans that is up to you but has nothing really to do with this great kit.

Nice. I am very much tempted. Would be cool if someone could film it in action. Are the paddles in the way if you decided it was not your thing? And it does not interfere at all with the stick nor cause airbag failure?lastly, how much is this beautiful kit of art? How many have done it so far?

Have a great evening lads and lassies!

Your fingers neither notice nor are bothered by the paddles when you are using the turn signal or cruise lever.

As far as interference with (or contributing to the failure of) the shifter and airbag. It has deigned in circuit protection for the shifter connections and it does not interface with the air bag.

Currently selling for $195 plus shipping.

Every module and harness is tested both individually and as a set (kit) on a bench-top simulator. Finally, EVERY module gets plugged into my car for a final check before it is shipped. There has not been a single DOA or failure in the field.

20+ Kits shipped already. Here are a couple of pictures of the Kit.

And here is a link to the complete install instructions https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...completed.html

If you have more questions, you could call me if you like.

Keep telling me how easy the installation is, I'm getting cold feet and fear breaking interior parts. Wiring makes me nneervous! I'm a wussy.

Les,
Look over the instructions and feel free to ask any questions. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...completed.html If you run into any troubles during the install you can call me and I'll be happy to walk you through it.

While you're probably a bit too far away to get Rudy at Speedriven to help you with this install (an expert by all accounts), a good local shop should be able to handle the parts you don't want to do on your own ( it is possible to farm out just parts of the job if you like).

It is understandable to be apprehensive, but I did it on my own before there were any instructions and mine came out awesome

Chris

P.s. I am currently caught up; so for the moment, Kits are available without a wait.

Looks amazing. This will be my winter project but it will be torture to not be able to test it out till spring. Oh well I'm getting used to that.

when I first did this in my car, I was concerned about the clearance to the turn signal lever too (and the cruise lever and voice command lever) .... and I just assumed that I would move the levers a little bit. As it turns out, in my car, it as never been a problem. All the levers and paddles in close proximity ... but never in the way of each other.

however, if someone does find on their car that they are too close, moving the levers back towards the dash a little (with a little help from a heat gun perhaps) should be an easy thing to do.

Glad you are liking the paddles Phil .... it is one more thing that makes me really like my car : )

This makes me really uneasy as I was about to order. Anyone who can verify that there is enough room? Pics? Any other dilemmas? (solder dilemma mentioned)

For the firt day or two I thought the turn signal was too close. I now no longer notice this and had forgotten all about it. During all day very aggressive driving at the Dragon, it never bothered me at all. In fact I had forgotten all about it until I just saw this mentioned. Easy fix would be to use a heat gun to move the turn signal out just a bit. It would be easy to do when the wheel is off during installation. Sit in your car, grab the wheel and pretend you have paddle shifters to get an idea of how close your knuckes are to the turn signal lever. You just need to get a set. You will love them even if you decide to move the turn lever out a tenth of an inch. this is probably more noicable for those with large or fat fingers.

The kit is pro. I can't wait to install it this winter. Also, the AMG paddles are really nice, they are die cast metal not plastic. They have a heavy, solid feel to them. Total win.
