Default NW fuel kit installed...

Well I finally got tired of looking at my NW fuel kit sitting in a box on my work bench so I spent about 5 or y6 hours installing it yesterday and finishing up this morning. I mounted the solenoids, relay and ZATV under the battery tray (no see 'em now) and brought the adjusting valve up in front of the ECU box. Still have to machine a bracket to hold it nicely. Tie wrapped for now.

Here is a short burst run I did coming home from my grandson BD party this afternoon. NO leaning out now!
This only got boost up to 12psi but the throttle position was at 62% and the AFR was between 11.7 - 12.1. I still have to fine tune it, but I am VERY happy.

Hopefully the weather will be good (read 'dry') next Saturday as there is a TnT at Woodburn. My bigger worry will be that I dont break my rear end.... I will be looking to better my 11.9 @ 114....

edit: cleaned up file and added a couple of markers.....

So I was looking at the log and realized that the boost trigger point was not met so it didnt boost the fuel pressure.... It is just giving me a solid fuel stream now...

So this may mean that my stock filter/regulator was not working fully.... that would explain the wacky AFR's I was seeing when I did similar runs last year....

I will feel much better, and safer, taking it to the track now... I just need to get it out where I can push it to get the max boost and get it setup for a 12 - 12.5 AFR....

While pulling my s/c out,I noticed in the SRT service manual, that your FPR is combo with filter. Is that true? My FPR is on the fuel rail...

Yes (again) and I really like the separate, adjustable, FPR. Also like having a pressure sensor mounted on the fuel rail and the Zietronix/Dashdaq to monitor it....

I would like to have another sensor to install and monitor my oil pressure too..... future add

Thanks for the info Mike. Did you mount the regulator in the stock filter location or under the hood?

Buggin, that is just the pulse damper on the fuel rail.

Can't open the file, do I have to change the extension??

I mounted the FPR in back next to the pump and filter. The file is just a Word file. It if want click and open, try saving it and then opening it with Word.

I also have the needswings fuel system, and so far the fueling needs are being met by the fuel pressure alone, and I haven't seen the alarm trigger the fuel pressure increase yet. I am wondering if the leaning before was due to an old (30k mile) regulator.and the pump/adjustable regulator alone may have solved the problem. Having said that I am happy that my fuel system is now capable of handling anything I throw at it............ A lot of things to install and wire, but ultimately worth it in the end

looking great, for the dashdaq file, drop the obd2 tps and keep the hard wired tps, drop the obd2 rpm and hard wire it in directly to tyhe zt2 wire harness. and drop th ehp and tq numbers from the graph for now. that will in turn give crisper data on the graph. the more things we pull from obd2 the slower the refresh rate, see how the boost and afr and tps (you wired in directly) have much more data points than the obd2 stuff?

Okee dokee, I'll change them.

Here is a pic of how/where I mounted the boost adjustment valve this morning and the engine bay.

Yes, I do need to clean it.....

If you don't mind, what was your A/F above 5K prior to installing the kit?

I just looked at a log from May of last year and it was 13.6 - 17.7AFR on a burst run like this but hitting 100% throttle...... YIKES! That is why I got the fuel kit and havent done any racing or high speed runs...

Damn, you were even leaner than me. I'm seeing 15-16's and very interested to see how well bumping up the fuel pressure with the NW regulator, pump, and filter will work on my A/F without getting the solenoids and all the electronics.

You guys and your big power! I'm currently ranging from 12 to 11.8 at WOT after my retune but my power is down a little from the stock programming.

Mike, is your old reservoir circulating coolant or just an expansion tank for the I.C.?

Doc, with your c3 pulley you are not in the same lean fuel scenario, the lean scenario is for someone running a crank pulley larger than 178mm
