Insanity!!!
Insanity!!!
Well guys, today i finaly took the 6 for a spin!
Over the past month ive been slowly installing the mods ive been working on over the winter. I fabbed a supercooler, and dual CIA, and installed a 185 pulley and tune, plus upgraded my IC pump to a Johnson to eliminate any future problems, plus did a few odd and ends here and there.
Sooo today i just finished tighting the last clamp on the intake and decided to take it for a quick zip down the road....... Well this car just went from awesome, to insane. The insane power and throttle response it just out of this world! i dont know really what more to say. The car scares me! literaly!, At just 1/2 throttle, the tires broke loose, and the TC was having a fit, even with it "off". My new motto now is, "with great power comes great responsibility"., because this is definetly a machine you gotta be carefull with. You just dont get the full effect of what others are talking about mod wize, untill you try them out for your self. The car is a whole new machine now.
I cant wait to get it all finished up, and try it all out with normal driving (see what kind of boost im pushing, as well as loggin my A/F).
As far as the throttle response goes, those who want a sprint booster ontop of a eurocharged tune is insane. Just the throttle response from the tune is a whole new experience

Re: Insanity!!!
Nice work on your mods and enjoy your ride!!
Pics of your work would be great.
I suggest pulling a spark plug in each lung around 3-5K miles from now and checking for lean conditions. (sooner if you race) Perhaps then would be a good time to upgrade to NGK BKR7EIX-11 Iridium series plugs or similar...

Re: Insanity!!!
Heres some pics for all to enjoy, of the 100's of pics i took, i thought i would share a few. First off before i go any further, props goes to waldig for the intial design ideal of the dual cai, supercooler, and catch can. Those gave me the basic foundation to design up my own attempt at them
Now.... Please dont bash on my "ricer" blue silicone intake tubes. I had originaly wanted to go with black so they dont look to obvious, but there was a 2 month wait on the black pipes, and i just wanted to get it done. So practicality over styling is what caused me to make my decision. I thought that if they ended up looking hideous, i could just put some heat refective tube wraps over them. I think the blue, kinda goes with the car though. And l used the nice stainless t-bolt clamps all over.
Theres just a fiew things i got left to do, i want to put a 180deg compression fitting on the end of the oil cooler line instead of the hose. And for those of you who know, will know why there is a notch in the 90 on the driver side.lol
The past few days have been a pollen frenzy, so the engine bay is a bit dirty and dusty. lol
Heres a pic when i was test fitting the tubes, and found out the fitment problem.
the 2 90's before the birth of the y-pipe
Pipes trimed so they fit together flush. I was surprised how nicely these went together.
Fabbing up one of the weldable threaded bungs for the supercooler.
Welded on, and a perfect fit
