UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
Ok iv had the crossfire here at Buckhead imports here in ATL for some time now. I would drive the 2 1/2 hr trip when I was able to work on her with there guidance. Well we started the dyno yesterday and at first I was a lil worried but Tony (aka sexual chocklet) told me it was normal numbers starting out the tune. Well this morning after watching Fast Five late late last night and wasn't able to sleep much I awoke to Tony telling me somthing was wrong. My hart dropped to my feet I started to get sick then he stated she's out of gass but her best run so far is at 412. I was soo pissed and happy at the same time but anyway I'm still here at the shop and she's up to 454 now and will do more. I'll let you guys know
Re: UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
I knew u would get that thing straightened out.,congrads,, now get some miles on her ,,you could drive (brake in miles) down to PBIR ,and we could see how she likes the track. i should have V8 # 2011-01-03 ready for the track soon myself,,,Rudy is driving it down to me within the next two weeks. jim
Re: UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
This is a rear mount turbo...as there is not very much space anywhere else to house the turbine~! Im very curious to see what this how this set up is going to hold up...I was motivated at one point to try the same thing. keep us posted

Eric, Great numbers! That is totally awesome. Would be nice to swing by
Buckhead Imports and take a gander at your car. I've been looking for an
excuse to go over there, and have spoken to them about installing the LSD
when I get it.
545 HP, at the wheels? I just find that number amazing. I suggest you
buy stock in the tire manufacturer you like best. You are going to need
it. So, you say you are still at the shop? Going to be there tomorrow?

Re: UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
Congrats on the numbers!
Can you create more boost without making the supercharger spin faster? e.g. what Eric is doing, having a twin turbo blow air into the supercharger.
Opposed to getting larger crank pullies to make the supercharger spin faster to create more boost?
The reason I ask this is because if the boost created by the turbo makes the supercharger spin faster just like a crank pulley would it's pointless on 2 levels.
1. It will end up destroying the supercharger as I believe its limited to somewhere between 17,000 - 18,000 RPMS. Any faster and it will literally melt.
2. If you really wanted to toast the charger you could get a 200mm crank pulley and run a Code 3 or something similar and make 30+ psi boost.
However if Eric's method doesnt make the supercharger spin faster and still increased boost then its a fantastic mod.
I'm not sure of the technical aspect so just putting it out there.

Re: UPDATE!!! Twincharged crossfire numbers
Congrats Eric. That is very impressive!!!!
Kolevski, your last assumption is correct. Eric is increasing the pressure of the air going into the SC. It does not cause it to spin any faster. Think about it..... The turbo is forcing air into the SC.... The SC will only spin as fast as the belt is turning the pulley. If the turbo caused the SC to spin faster, it would make the pulley spin faster as well as everything else that the belt spins. That would be an awful mess. LOL
