It popped the fuse twice until I changed out the 15 amp with a 25. After that it stopped blowing the fuse, but it wouldn't start. I connected a voltmeter and confirmed it was getting power, but it just wouldn't start. I installed the stock pump and it started right up.

By the way, the SL55 pump was very warm to touch when I removed it.

I don't know. There is no such box visable around the stock fuel pump.

Was that 'box' wired into the pump? or just mounted next to it?

O.K., I'll take a stab at this. Is it possible this SL55 pump knows when its run dry (0 p.s.i.) and protects itself? Or, tap it lightly w/ a hammer. If that doesn't work, try bigger hammer. jk,lol.

Me I would open it to see inside, unless you have exchange rites. Try reversing the polarity for 1/2 second to try and free the inpeller, worth a try. Woody

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure I can get a refund, but swapping it out won't be an option. I'll try reversing the polarity and see what happens. I'm too tired to screw with it tonight though.

I wired the SL55 pump to a 18V battery and now it's working, at least on the bench. I'll reinstall it later this week and see what happens.

The pump must me clogged, as it just doesn't have the power to pump the fuel. I bench tested it with gas and it just isn't up to the task.

Too bad, that as a great price, send it back. Keep looking. Bosch 044 looks good, not sure if it has a check valve like the stocker though.

I got a full refund on the bad pump, and installed another used pump tonight. Luckily this one is working just fine.

Did the pump take care of the leaning out problem ?

The pump is working fine.

I went racing Friday. I was only seeing around 18psi, but I was still overpowering the track badly. I would break loose at launch, let off and gradually get back on it. It would then break loose again. This was happening even with traction control on. Keep in mind, I was hooking just fine in Bowling Green, so it must be the track or my tires. I doubt it's the tires.

I can't find the boost leak and I'm tired of looking, so I'm going to let the dealership give it a shot this week. After it's fixed, I'll start logging the A/f again.
