Default new concern

I have been going through halogen bulbs like crazy...In the last 8-9 months, I have had to replace my low beams...I've replaced the passenger side twice and the drivers side once...Now today the drivers side went out again...Has anyone else experienced this problem? By the way, changing the drivers side light really sucks ...I have to do that tomorrow.

I would look at the contacts on the bulb holder and look for arcing. Poor contact and a fluctuating current does a lot of harm to bulbs.
In the old days a bad voltage regulator could send too much voltage to the battery, check that as well. If the voltage is too high the bulbs burn out prematurely.
I thought the passenger side was the worst to fix.

It just dawned on me.
Are you using an after market Colored bulb?
Also some of those "Brightest" bulbs don't actually obtain there higher lumen output through science they mearly bump the Wattage.
Brighter yes but they burn out very quick.
If you answer yes to either of these qiestions you need to switch either to a quality HID or Sylvania Silverstar Halogins. I have 4 extra I could give to you at a good price.

OEM bulbs are 55 watt and you cannot get any legal ones higher than that. You can buy Osram Rallye bulbs which are over the legal wattage (65) and they are supposed to last very well and are classed plus plus.
They are $20 or $25 each, do a Google search and you will find them. Silver Star's are the ones that burn out quickly according to previous replies on the forum.
I think that they are brighter because the filament is thinner and burns more intensely and that results in the short life.

I only put the regular H7 bulbs in there...The last one I got from work...It's the same ones they use for BMW's...Some BMW's have that problem and they fix it with programming which sends less current to the bulbs

180, I have to disagree with you there. I have run many Silverstars in different vehicles and have had NOTHING but good luck with them.
I have to say Sylvania seems to know what their doing in the bulb department. To each his own.

I agree with ammoman, if you touch the bulb by mistake when replacing it, it would shorten the life dramatically. Other than that I really don't know.
