Which one would you buy?
Which one would you buy?
I'm sorry I'm posting without introducing myself, but I was waiting until I purchased a SRT6 before posting.
Anyway, I'm no stranger to these cars, and I've wanted one ever since I chased down the instructor 5 years ago at the SRT Track Experience while driving one. They had to pull me out it.
Here's my dilemma. There are two SRT6's available with similar mileage that I'm very interested in.
-Aero Blue '05 70K miles, two owners, - repossessed and currently for sale at a dealership. CLean Carfax (scrore of 87), but there was "slight left rear damage" in 2007. Built 7/04.
-Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic '05, 66K miles, lady owned, non-smoker, 2nd owner. No Carfax, but I have the VIN, 1C3AN79N95X048662. The only downside is she stated that the "headlight out" bulb is illuminated on the dash, but the headlight is fine. Also, she stated the "low tire pressure" light is on, but the tires pressure is fine.
I really like the Aero Blue color, but I suspect it will be hard to keep clean. From experience, should I stay away from the Silver Blue due to the dash lights? Also, I read somewhere about early builds, but I'm not sure if that applies to the '05.
Thanks,
Anthony

Love my Aero Pearl Blue. No problem with keeping clean. Best color, IMO.
However, buy the SSB and then get extended warranty from dealer. That would take care of small issues. Panel and body work on damaged Aero Blue would be much more of a hassle. Plus damaged goods and may cost 50 to 75% of buying warranty.

Re: Which one would you buy?
How much are you paying for them? I got a 13.5k mile Black Coupe for 16.9 and a warranty through credit union that is fully refundable after I pay it off if I don't use it.
Check around, you can have it shipped for 800 bucks if they are on the oppsite side of the country or less depending on distance, might get something more worthwhile. I lucked out because I was patient.
Funny thing is I have those same two lights on in my car and have no problems.
It has to be a fuse or a sensor... I am checking the repair guide now I'll let you know what I find unless someone else knows already!

Thanks for the offer though.

...as for the low pressure light, I agree with Andrew, it is most likely a bad sensor.
$10.8k is a great price. Almost worth buying just to spend the extra money and send it to Rudy for some extra goodies.

Re: Which one would you buy?
the TPM light being on is likely to someone cross rotating the tires or having one repaired, it is as simple as going to the dealer and having them reset the program. Most dealers may not even charge you!!!!! worst thing is what Andrew said - replace it...as far as Color - I have both ( neither one is any harder to keep clean than the other ). you said you have been on this sight a while, so look for the things like valve covers leaking and things of that nature...... Best of LUCK

The TPM's have batteries no?
Could also be replacement wheels. I have the ones on Crumpy's Srt so mixed up I'm not sure which are original.
So the Tire sensor can just stay on.
SSB is the easiest to clean. I have both and can say the SSB is faster. At least to clean.
But the Aero is just an awsome color in the SRT.
It is an accepted fact however, that the SSB's are faster.
The $10K pricing is amazing. You can't really go wrong because they should be three to five $K more. That gives you a good budget for mods or repairs.
Drive both and see which one fits better on your butt and which one best moves the butt meter.
Either will likely have an issue at those miles but either will also put a premagrin on your face.
And isn't that the point of this excercise?

Re: Which one would you buy?
SSB all the way baby!
I had a bulb light periodically. It was as simple as one of the rear tag lights was failing. The TPS sensors are 5 bucks a piece to replace.
With the price you can't go wrong. Don't know where you can buy such looks and performance for 10K! Plus you'll have cash left over for a few mods.
