Did i get scammed? Pics inside
Alright, i bought what was supposed to be a code 3 pulley about a month and a half ago.... got around to installing it today. and its the same as my stock pulley!!! i PM the guy and call him since he posted his number . Im not bashing just yet because he swears its the code 3. his name is Jnsrt6. They both measure just under 3 inches about 74 mm. He also mentioned that the stock pulley is black and code 3 is silver. they are both def a stock pulley without a doubt. you guys be the judge.

I do not think that any of the C3 pulley generations have the taper on the front of the pulley. I know that my 1st gen pulley does not have a taper to it. Looks OEM to me.
This is what a C3 looks like:
This is what the stock pulley looks like:
Notice that the C3 is not tapered in the front!
Another picture of a C3 pulley:

Re: Did i get scammed? pics inside
Code3 had 3 different pulleys with 2 different sizes. The original size is 65MM and then they had a mid sized pulley. I do not know the size of that one (68 or 70MM I believe.). I think Doc has the mid size pulley and maybe can chime in. The mid sized pulley was somewhere between the original and stock sizes, and was designed to allow you to run a smaller than stock SC pulley in tandem with a larger crank pulley. The stock pulley is 74MM. Code3 did not make a 74MM pulley. If the pulley you received is 74MM then it is not a Code3.

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-not-flat.html (I don't know why the link wont work so search "Code 3 pulley rubs" and it will show up in the results.)
This thread has tons of pics of the different Code 3 pulleys.
This is a pic of a stock pulley.

This guy doesnt want to own up. He just keeps saying " i know what i sent you and its a code 3 pulley." He still thinks both pulleys are code 3 and i must have had a code 3 already on the car. Seriously, its like talking to a wall at this point. I created this thread to show him but he is being very unreasonable. I thought buying through the forum was safe since there are many great members. This sucks!

Well, that really sucks, because I am assuming that you paid in the range of $450 for that. If he is so convinced that it is a C3, he should have no problem refunding your money and selling to someone else as there is such a high demand for C3s. PM Valkryderguy, or FP and see if they can assist you in any way to get this resolved. Good luck, and sorry that you got duped.
Re: Did i get scammed? pics inside
Looking back at some of jnsrt6's posts, I don't see one where he bought a code3 pulley. In fact, he was interested in a 181 pulley set. However, when he was selling (or wanted to sell) his car, he said there were no mods on it. It's possible (and I think I read about someone doing it before) that he had a code3 pulley, took it off, then accidentally put it back on instead of the stock one.
I'd ask him to double-check his car again to make sure the code3 pulley is not on there ... then proceed with whatever legal action you can take.

Re: Did i get scammed? pics inside
it is hard to tell with out seeing both pullies here is the stock pully and what u can look for
in the first pic the stock pully is about 2 3/4" wide.
in the second pic the washer and rivit is centered on the cutout.
the thickness is about 1/4"
this needs to be measured with a caliber to be 100% what pully it is.
look in the pic above you will see how the rivit is not in the center of the code 3 but is in the stock ones. jim

No, lets not do that at all.... To sell something on here that is obviously the wrong pulley is fraud. He knows it and is just playing dumb. He needs to refund your money and not scam anyone else on here. It's an internet crime and he knows it....he knowingly misrepresented the pulley...any rookie on here can figure that out...and your photo is proof...tell him to call me...if he thinks that is a code 3 pulley...be glad to set him straight...
Re: Did i get scammed? pics inside
1-3.jpg[/quote]I have one of each of these pulleys... the stock one has the taper...as you can see here there are rivet differences, and the top is squared off so to speak...and they are smaller in diameter...so all you really have to do is place the so called c3 up against your stock...c3 is smaller in diameter....you have two stock pullies in that picture...he did not sell you a code 3 and needs to refund your money immediately....
Re: Did i get scammed? pics inside
2 more pics. Both same size, both tapered and both 75 MM. I feel like i'm wasting my time here. i shouldnt be going through all this trouble to show this clown he didnt send me a code 3 pulley. Geez. Im sending this link to the mods to see if they can help. Thanks everyone for your input. This is the most helpful forums around and you guys obviously look out for each other. I will keep you posted and let you know if jnsrt6 redeems himself.
