Default Solve an argument

Steve and I are having a spat and I would like for you to get in the middle of it. On the way to church this morning and doing my early morning speed run. This morning I hit 160, and 32krazy says that's impossible because the SRT is limited to 155. I know I'm not the only one to hit these speeds, so solve our squabble what's the fastest a non tuned, SRT-6 with a NW DCAI? I say 158 +/- 2mph

All limiters aren't equal. I bounced off 160 before it cut out before my tune....but, I like the idea of taking him for a ride. I had a buddy with me when I did it....witnesses you know, and he wasn't saying much until we back down to 55...lol...

A lot of German cars will have a different reading on the speedo for you to see, in comparison to the vehicle speed that the ECM sees.

Porsche is infamous for this, for example.

Above 10 mph, by Boxster has a 4 mph speedo reading above what the car's computers are actually determining from the transmission input, and the wheel speed sensors.

You can actually hook up a diagnostics tool to the car, and read the actual speed reading, and see its 4 mph off anytime you choose. You can actually pull up the various sensor data using the HVAC controls in the car, and see the difference that way, too. (yes, its pretty cool being able to pull up different sensor data right on the hvac controls).

So yes, I would imagine that you would be able to get the speedo to read 160 on a Crossfire, before hitting the speed limiter.

BC.

Easy way to settle this. Pick the right spot,do the deed, and then have the officer show "Steve" his meter.

End of argumet no?

Case Closed

You can also use a portable GPS like the Tomtom to verify how much your speedo is off. If I remember the SAE requirements it can't be off more than 4% within normal operating range.

Actually I had my Limited to 158mph (speedo) before the tune I had always heard the cut off WAS 158?
Anyway I have the GPS mounted for whenever I am doing high end runs.
Both can be off to an extent! Yes even the GPS, but, the GPS is the closest to accurate.
173mph to date but I truely believe near 190mph is possible.
HAPPY HIGH END!
Mike

My speedometer is spot on at the track if it says 102 through the traps that is exactly what the time slip says. I would assume at 160 its still pretty close. Now my motorcycle is another matter. If it reads 70 mph Im going 63.

I have notice with my Garmin it reads faster than the speedo does about 2-4 miles different, but never the same, and again all speedo's can have 2 to 7 miles phr difference in accuracy, and have read a lot of threads/post about going 158+ with no problems and stock as well.

Similar experience, but I've only noticed it off by 2 mph. Still I think it would be good enough for this "argument".

The only thing that's not possible is for his SLK to get more attention than our Crossfires.
