Then you'll like this vid of me and my cousin in his HD with just a hypertech programmer. He stays with me for 60' easy. His best is 14.03 so far. Stoplight to stoplight and it is quick. YouTube - Crossfire SRT6 11.97 sec pass Speedworld, AZ

Thanks for that. You've got a quick one for sure, but you were cheating with what looks like some drag slicks in the rear? Yeah, these new modded/tuned diesels are a lot of fun too!

How funny.... I have an "old school" mechanical diesel truck (rotory injection pump, etc.. - no chips or flashes) and I shock the heck out of a lot of modified pickups...

Yep those are hoosier drag radials. I've ran both those and the mickey thompson's, and by far favor the hoosiers. They are needed to get in the 11's without spraying. Once you mod these cars, them stock tires are only good for cruising speeds.

really? im still waiting for you to say hello on the amg private lounge with the amg replica you own cruzin!! as for the clamps look at were they are pinched down. stick a small flat tip in there and pop it up. clamp is now loose. you will need a special tool (not the cruzinquick kind) to reinstall this clamp as it isnt intended to be removed.
if you had bothered at all to read the service manual(referenced more than once here ) you would have step by step instructions on how to remove this simple cover. if this clamp has you so perplexed maybe you should put down the tools and step away from the car.

Again w/ the attitude. Please let me put a stop to this. If I ruffled your feathers, please accept my apology; I obviously started this. I couldn't find anywhere that talked about removing that clamp so I figured one of you Veterans could help me. I'm wondering why it took you so many posts to tell me to simply use a small flat tip and pop it up. I just wasn't sure and didn't want to scratch up the plastic. For some reason you made it into a stupid question; and maybe it was. Again, sorry. I'm never going to go as far as some of you folks w/ the mods, because this really is my wife's car and I don't want her to get in any trouble. Bob Be Cool

You know "old school" tricks and secrets Brian. I thought it was just these newer Turboed and tuned diesel trucks that can smoke the tires. Bob

the reason i didnt tell you how to take them apart is because you arent supposed to take them apart. you posted your question and 1 day later you are upset because nobody answered you. and yet again i tell you everything you need to know is in the service manual at the top of this section. its huge and is directly what the techs use.

the attitude comes from the answers you got werent what you wanted to hear and so you keep asking without searching. k&n makes thousands of filters. they have no clue what clamps are being used and could care less. you chose to take their instructions over the members (other than myself) who have done this many times.

I am very pleased w/ all that info. This will help keep a lot of us away from the dealership; a good thing! Thank you very much. Bob

Thank you Krazy, I appreciate your analysis and bringing this to an end.

I don't own an amg, I own a chrysler crossfire SRT6. Why do I need to join a private lounge when I can just call the major AMG guys on their cell phone? Also I would put money that I have made more 1/4 passes in more AMG models than you have. I don't pretend. This is a crossfire forum. Period.

Bob the real AMG owners over on mbworld are some of the best friends you can ask for. This guy has a mercedes emblem stuck you know where, and is the minority.
