Pain in the back pis-ed me off for last time
Pulled out the throttle ( AGAIN ) to remove my velocity booster (VB) as I am testing it to see if it holds any promise over the sprint booster. DID YOU KNOW THE SPRINT BOOSTER CAME FROM GREECE?????? I have swapped them back and forth for a while now and have been under the dash longer than I would like to think about it.
Had to remove the VB to reinstall the SB cause I keep getting P0123 codes with the VB and have been doing research to see whatts sup. The connector for the kickdown switch broke a wire cause it is wayy too short........Pain in the back.
Another issue is that the dam throttle is bolted down with a stupid nut that is durn hard to pull out and hard to install. BE GONE BICTH. Threw that toad away, outta here. Decided to get a 3/8" stud and make up a long nut by threading it to 6mm x 1mm. Now I have a nut that is easy to get to and take out without issue and no argument to deal with. The new nut is way shorter than the throttle reach, and it does not touch; and is a virtual dream to remove / install
The broken kick down wire also was fixed with a 2 wire trailer connector to extend the repaired connector. I wanted it longer so that I could see how the car ran without the switch connected on the track. There is enough slack to get the connector unplugged or not, to test the differences and operation. Iam trying to get the car to be rid of that terrible throttle lag, now that the fuel issues are coming under control.
Having run the car without cleaning it, please dont diss the photo of the rugs. I Have not installed the floor mat ( have to be removed for the track safety ) and the rug has a bunch of silt on it. Bigger picture is for the understanding that the nut need not be that short PITA nut if you have to pull it out.
Photos of the last minutes before I had to get the car on the trailer.............WEEKEND AGAIN AND YIPPIE.
Photos wont load, please see my gallery album: Throttle rework activities
